hi, my name is slick, and i'm a audioholic....

i think car audio is taking over my life. i went to my local car audio shop to see if they had any diamond audio M6 components because i wanted to upgrade my front stage. well, after having a chat with the guys there ( i go there a lot, they are friends ) i decided to spend the extra money and get HEX components. well then, after looking around at some of the cars they were working on in the shop, i noticed one had q forms in it, and i HAD to have them in my car. they aren't out yet, but when they are, i am getting them.

am i the one that does this kind of thing? spend too much on car audio? i had my rockford amps for a mere 4-5 months before i upgraded to diamond D5 amps, and my HU was 6-7 months old before i got the clarion.

please, help me, i want to get better

take the 12 step program. It's a 12 month program where you get a completely new system within 12 months. One month you get a HU, the next month new components, the next month new amps, etc etc etc...

PS: Repeat the cycle every 12 months

i'm just hoping that i dont get to the point where my audio system costs more than my car, EEK!!! the shop i go to has a customer that paid $18k for a 2000 Si, and $20k+ on his audio system, thats insane.

btw, my first step to recovery will be to leave my credit cards at home, lol.

Last 4 years I've spent over $18k in car audio..and I don't pay retail..

HU wise

I've had a Pioneer Premiere DEH P1R (my first aftermarket HU)
then went with an Eclipse 3440 after the pio unit got stolen.
Then a Clarion 715Z
Then an Eclipse 8051
Then a Clarion 315Z(someone offered me $300 over retail for my 8051)
then an 8051,
Then a 5441 because of the voltage problem with ym amps.

Amp wise
I had a PPI 2600 Chrome and a PPI 2400 Chrome
then a PPI 4800Chrome.
then sold those and wne t with
Micro Dimension 75.2 and a 1k.1
then a Blaunpunkt MPA 680US (temp) and a Lighting audio S2.500
Then got my Butler tube amp.
Then had a Planet audio 2300 and the lighting S2.500
Changed to an Arc 2100CXL and an Arc 2500CXL.
then a Memphis 1500D
then 2 Arc 2100CXL's

Speakers.
I went from Blaupunkt ODWA 6.5's and 6x9's.
then Boston Acoustics pro 6.53 3way components.
then Focal 165k3's
Then Rainbow Pro Series 2 ways.

Subs oi vey!
JL audio 12W0
3 JL audio 10W6's
BA Pro 12.5LF
2 PPI Pro 12's
2 Planet audio Pro series 12's
2 Eclipse alum 12's
2 Eclipse 87151.4's
2 Audiomobile EVO-R 12's
2 IDMAX D2's (v.1)
1 15" Eclipse Alum

EQ/Processing.
2 Audio Controll EQl's
Phoenix gold bass cube
Audio controll matrix
Eclipse 21010 in dash.

Ohio Generator 160Amp hot rated alternator

not to mention the various enclosures, cost of parts, wiring installation...sound deadening....

Actually Q-forms are available for our cars. I got mine 2 days ago. Just to let you know tho, Qlogic considers the dark gray in our cars to be black, so if you have a dark gray interior don't order the gray, get the black.
