Headers 4-1 vs 4-2-1

guys, i'm new here and a novice when it comes to mods. i'm planning on replacing my headers.. i've already installed a CAI... What's better a 4-1 header or 4-2-1 ... does replacing stock headers really increase speed/hp?? and how does it affect rpm ranges? ..any other things i need to know guys? i'm thinking of doing the I/H/E setup but for now i'm contented with an I/H setup only hehe - me no have money any more
thanx guys any advice would help

for one thing.. there's no 4-2-1 header out for our car... unless u get it done custom. so that kind of just limited your option.

the stock header is 4-1 btw. ex has a longer 4-1, while the dx, lx, hx has a short short 4-1... in fact its almost like 1-1. heh. (but er thats pretty stupid since its obviously there's 4 cylinders and 4 manifold port... )

depending on the header... but from what I know of the header out there thats available to our car.. they're just bigger pipping ones... and a bit smoother flowing... probably will yield more low-mid range power in the rpm ranges... while lose some on the top end...

duno the amount of peak hp you'll gain. probably not much, or any at all.

as for speed, you may lose a few mph out of your top mph (ie: original top mph is 127, after header -> 124)

as of now, replacing your header with an aftermarket only yields noticable gains if you were to replace the cat as well but since this is an emissions no- no get the Hp header with the hi flo cat if you don't care either way

A 4-2-1 header produces more power in the low to mid RPM range, while a 4-1 header produces more power in the higher RPM range.

I think i could get a 4-2-1 custom made. id still have to ask though. there's a local compay here in the philippines that make aftermarket headers .. i've got a CAI which would work better 4 -1, 4-2-1 .. i'm thinkin if its possible to get a 4-2-1 then that would be better becuase the traffice here is terrible no point in addin up more top speed.. my rpm's dont even get to 6revs/min till its about 2am when there are very very few cars on the raod - any comments? thanx

Also what about gas consumption and temperature?
