I just put on one of those generic front sturt bars with a CAI
I just put it on today and no it does not "really" fit, its rubbing against my intake and I have no clue how one of the memebers on here tilted his foward! Mine
wont, ill have to take a torch to it and bend it. But as of right now its on and i used a thick piece of rubber between the bar and the intake. The weird thing is i
can feel the vibration of the engine ALOT especially in the pedals or when downshifting and when i go to brake i feel the vibration bad.
Anyone know if this is bad for anything? I might post something similar in the tech forum since no one really comes to this thread just lettin you know ahead of
time... Im at class right now so ill post pics later.

Its bad for your intake and its bad for your intake manifold. The bar is mounted on the body and is rigid. The intake is mounted to your motor that sits on mounts. the mounts flex thereby moving the intake against the bar under braking and downshifting. I think the intake will take most of the beating, but who knows The intake manifold is made out of plastic and wasnt designed to take that kind of abuse. Ditch the generic bar and get a neuspeed bar.
I can't believe that you are risking it and driving your car around like this.

You must be talking about me. It takes a little finess, but this is how I did. Mount one of the sides and tighten the bar mount. Twist the bar so it is verticle and pull the bar towards the front. It should bend the mounts on the mounting plate. Remove the side you just bent and do the other side. You want to bend it far enough so that when the bar is verticle, the angle of the bend on the bar will look like it was made that way(you know what I mean?). Reheating the bar structurally weakens the bar. That's why race cars do not powdercoat their rims. Just a thought.
