03 owners, suspension mods?
I ordered ground control coilovers for my 03 Civic last week and found out through one of the mechanics at modacar in pleasanton that due to the fact that honda changed the upper bearings on 03s that 02 suspension mods will not fit. Is this true, and is the answer replacing the existing struts? Someone help me out here, can't return my coilovers, plus I want to lower my car. Thanx

Yikes...that sucks. I'm not sure about your problem but if you can't return the coilovers, you can always sell them on ebay or better yet, the marketplace forum
I, along with many other people, would be willing to take them off your hands.
Good Luck on solving your dilema.

well IF they did change it, all you need to do is buy bearings from the 02. are you sure they changed it tho? i know they changed it from 01 to 02 but i dont see why they would change it again from 02 and 03...

Solved my dillema, for 34 bucks a corner I can change theupper bearings and caps. yes they did change them for 03 for god knows what reason and no, suspension from past models wont fit due to the new caps that dont fit over the eibach springs. After that im all set, my ride will be lookin clean

The cap is a different size from what I have been told, i think the bearing is too. I'm still breaking in my car so I'll probably not put them on until after the break in period, but I'lll take pictures from my installation and post them here. Today I'm gonna call ground control and ask them if they can provide an adapter or if i can return them my coilovers for a 2003 set if they decide it's worth the trouble to make them. Yeah, i special ordered them from Modacar and unfortuantely they have a bitch *** 25% charge on the return of special order items, sons of beeches....
I just bought goldline springs for my 03 ex coupe and then I read your thread. This sucks man. This mean that the springs won't fit on my car unless I get bearings. Do I need 4 bearings or only the front. Sorry so many questions man but what are bearings.I can wait till they come out with new springs for our car but I have no patience, you guys understand my need to put them on. Don't like highrising it. So please help me out on how much it costs for the bearings and where do I buy them at. I saw the thread where it said each corner cost 34 dollars but from where and do I need 4 corners. Thanks for the help 7th gen ricers.
