ok I have this problem with my civic..do you know the answer cuz honda doesnt, No ones hurd of this one.

I'll drive the car for about 1/2 an hr. semi hard. and when i park and shut off every things cool...I'll let it sit 4 about 30 min or so, i'll start it up and drive and it feels like somthings holding it back like not enough gas or air untill i get to about 5000rpm's and all of a sudden the thing takes of like it brook free...kinda like the clutch is slipping and then grabs but it's not..THAT"S NOT HALF THE STORY....after a few time of doing this the Damn thing like shuts down and wont let me go any higher then 4000rpm's, it like bog's simular to if your at red line in every gear...Now to cure the problem I'll need to go under the hood and pull the main fuse to the ECU and every thing is fine after that till the next ride...Now nothing happens if i drive normally and dont get up on it. but what fun is that!

i went to hond 2 times and they couldnt tell me **** but put it back to stock. they said that the codes the ECU was showing wasnt even in the book and they cant tell me what the hell is wrong with it or where to begain to fix the problem. They also told me to try and take it to a performance place since i have an aftermarket intake, headers, exhaust and Nitrous system since they deal with all that stuff ....so i did ...guess what, they never heard of it either...

I was thinking Vtec is at 4000rpm's...could that be it...???
Vayper lock...the gases expand and chock out the sencers.....????
hole in one of the air lines( vacum leak )....???
BAD ECU.....???Need after market upgrade with all my modes?????

What what could it be!.....HEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLPPPPP!!!!!!!

Hrrm. Well I know that when you pull the ECU fuse the next time you drive it the ECU has to re-learn your driving style. I thought there was something in the manual about this how your suppose to drive after pulling the fuse or replacing the battery.

Also what codes are you getting? Post them up here.

This might sound far fetched, but it could be that the ECU is having a hard time dealing with some after-market part thats installed and doesnt know WTF to do to help the engine correct itslef and run properly.

well honda waz not kind enough to give me the codes, even after i asked for them, they just said that they coudnt understand them, " a bunch of jiberish" to quote them exactly...i did have a chk eng light on ....but like i said that came on after i installed the air/fuel ratio meter, and not the APC 4 to 1 headers....honda said that it was cool to drive the car that way since there was no real problem withthe engine...i didnt know the brain learns how you drive...when i reseted it. i drove like a mad man...may be i ll be cool on it after reseting this time...another thing when i did hook up the air/fuel....i want to sure how to do...i went with the one that wrkd...I'm pretty sure it's hooked uyp right since it wrks and all...

Maybe take it to Pepboys or AutoZone and see if they can scan it for codes. Your braver then me about installing stuff, I'm to scared to install stuff unless I know its in right.. see about getting the codes if you can.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO LOOK INTO AN AFTERMARKET ECU. THIS MAY HELP, IF NOT COMPLETLY IT SHOULD HELP SOME. BUT BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING TAKE YOUR CAR TO ANOTHER HONDA DEALER AND TELL THEM WHATS GOING ON AND MENTION THAT THE OTHER DEALER COUNDN'T FIGURE IT OUT. IT WILL GIVE THE NEW DEALER MORE MOTIVATION TO FIGURE IT OUT ........

It could also be a problem with the VTEC camshaft not shifting properly, or not resetting once you go from high to low rpms. You have so many engine mods, though, it may be one of those.
