it's so easy it doesn't require a DIY.. just pull out the black plastic panel in yout trunk. Lossen the 2 latch bolts. Move the latch down a little. Tighten bolts.. close trunk.. see if it works.. if not make it tighter/looser as necessary.
Now..don't mess with the latch on the trunk lid.. It's the one in the trunk itself.

thanks,
also, do you what do you reccommend lining the trunk with, a spray type substance, or using some sore of adhesive mat (dynamat, raamat, etc.)? if the mat, which is the best? price is not a figure

run a bead of silicone bwteen the framing of the trunk, and apply any of the following deadeners.
Raam60
Fatmat Extreme
Brown Bread
Dynamat Extreme
I'd reccomend Raam60 as it's the easiest one to work with. All 4 deaden pretty much as well. FatMat costs the least. All are great quality. Dynamat is retartedly overpriced and then some.

where'd be the best place to get some RAAM60? no where locally carries it... i have to get this done, i can't stand the hum of a trunk when you got the thump turned up...
mo, will one roll of the raam60 do the entire trunk or will i need more than one, i will be needing to order this in the next day or two cause i am going to do it while i have the trunk ripped apart when building, installing my custom amp enclosure... also, i can't get your DIY for relocating the spare to come up, i keep getting errors, i tried some of the links to it as well, with the same result, any chance you could direct me to it? the links i have are from when the site was still 2k1civic.com
thanks mo, now if i could only locate that DIY, i'd be set. i was thinking of getting a under car device like on some trucks and all to use with the wire and everything, but i'm not too sure, my dad is working on that design cause he worked in a body/auto shop for 20 years doing various things, so i am letting him do most of the desiginng for that, i have looked at the other DIY's but didn't really like them too much, but i remembered yours was pretty good, so i figured i'd ask about it.
yeah, it was from when the site was 2k1civic .com, but the thread won't work. anyway, i along with my dad's help, he used to work in a auto shop, doing body work and engine work and all for about 20 years, have devised a way to do it and make it really clean, we are going to be using a wire assembly like the ones that are under trucks with the crank and everything where you can lower it without having to crawl under the car....
