installing side skirts

i have side skirts from afsmotorsports.com. Theyre not the usual side skirts that part of it goes inder the door. Its hard to explain.if you go to the web page and look the the kit, look at the sides. I have the side but the part that does across the car is kinda in a "wavy" pattern. Do i need to sand it flat to make it fit flush with the car or is it supposed to be like that to allow water through or something? Its kinda hard to explain like i said, and im not a retard.

yes it fiberglass, but i didnt get that front, i got the other one thats available for a bit more. I did get the back because it subtle, yet different. I have to say, ive installed about 8 body kits and this one really fits great for being fiberglass.
