30,000 mile service
Has anyone had there 30,000 mile service done at honda? I brought mine this morning and those guys estimated the price at 390. Now im pissed i couldve bought soemthing nice for my car with that money.
not a whole lot, oil and filter change, balance and rotate tires, brake inspection, will washer fluid, top off all other fluids, lub hinges, inspect lights. that about it....tranny fluid change if you have an auto, manual is changed at 60k. for sure not worth even $100.

HAHA....Never ever bring your car in for any of the services. That is the biggest service department scam. They make so much money off the service packages. I used to work for 2 dealers and I cant believe the stuff they get away with and what people dont realize that they are paying for. For that $390, the mechanics only check over your car, maybe rotate your tires, change the oil and top off any fluids....Any other parts are extra.
You dont need to bring your car to the dealer....Just keep up with the oil changes, and check all your fluids, Change the radiator fluid once a year or everyother year....and you should be fine.
Rotate your tires also...

Yea I told my dealer to go to Hizell when they told me how much it was.....just have Pep boys or someone change your trans. fluid. WAY CHEAPER! I posted this topic a couple of weeks back. Got lots of help....Linkified
I'm really glad i read this, i just got a piece of mail from them saying i'm due for that maintenance and i even get 10% off, but i highly doubt i will have them do whut i know my car needs. thanx
I'm taking my car in for the 20,000-mile service tomorrow. I may have them just do the stuff for the 10,000-mile service because there looks like a lot of bogus stuff for the 20,000. For instance, listed in the 2001 Civic Maintenance Schedule at my dealership under the 20,000-mile service is "inspect distributor cap and rotor". Hmm, how nice of them to charge me for checking my distributor, especially when 2001 Civics DON'T HAVE distributors!
I'm sure it's a mistake but I'll call them on it anyway.
