JET ECU vs AEM Cam Gear
Maybe someone can provide a little more insight into this. I noticed someone metioned in another thread concernig the ECU that they called JET, and one of the main things JET does to the ECU is advance the timing. Well, if you get the AEM cam gear, you can also advance the timing. So, what would be the major differences between the two? If you're just looking to advance the timing, then wouldn't the cam gear be a better way to go? You wouldn't have to worry about being without your ECU. You could change it back yourself, and so on. I know JET also programs your ECU to work with your other mods.
I guess what I'm getting at is, would both of these mods work together, or would it be better to go with one over the other?

You are talking about 2 completely different things.... the cam gear adjust CAM TIMING which effects when the intake/exhaust valves open and close.... The ECU controls IGNITION TIMING, so I imagine that the JETCHIP would be able to change the ignition timing since that is something electrical, where the cam timing is something mechanical. Hope this helps... later!

Advanced ignition timing and retard the cam timing is the best way to go!
Jet Ecu upgrade got me into the 15.7's but You can't use
advanced ignition timing with N2O, so I have to run dual ECU's
I switch back and forth for daily driving chipped and stock ECU
when I am at the track and going to run N2O
