2k2 Ex vs. V6 mustang

i know this is a little late but friday night i was down the races in south philly...i was at a light with 3 lanes 2 straight lanes and the right turning lane....there was a blue v6 mustang in the turning lane (and i dunno about u's but i hate when people are in the turning lane and cut u off) so he starting inching up and i knew he was gonna cut me off but i wasnt having it.....the road was wide enough for 3 lanes even though it was only 2 so i reved it to 2,400 and dropped the clutch at green and we are off both neck and neck till 4th gear when i back off cause i know this road and it has mad dips in it so i back off and he keeps flying and he hits the dips and bottoms out sparks and all and me and my friend just laugh and keep driving.....i just hate people who think they own the road and if ur gonna get a mustang it might as well be an 8 i mean its said when a stock civic can run with u....my civic was stock but had a heavy *** system and one other person...he had no mods that i knew off and 2 other people in there

dude, a goped could get a better 60' time then a drop clutch launch @ 2400RPM in a near stock/stock civic.

sad, but true.
Our Civics just lack the aftermarket support that the previous gens have. Hopefully that will change with time. Then maybe we could feel some g-force while accellerating instead of just turning.

btw: HondaGuru the sig is awesome. Smith and Wesson.

A v-6 mustang can take our civics easily.
Me and my friend race all the time and she, yes SHE, (thats one reason it sux so bad) always beats me.
Granted, mines an auto and hers is a stick, but the mustang would still have the advantage even if it was a auto.

Its a 98 mustang, btw.

ELi

PS- shes actually an awesome driver, she can keep up with all the guys

I dunno dude. If your an automatic that might be why, especially if she can shift decently. I've held side by side with a v-6 when I used to race a lot. I've lost my shift and start, but that's aside the point...
An automatic v-6 prob would prob still beat you if you don't have any bolt-ons, or anything else done. But all I had was aem cold air and a tanabe full cat-back.

That's the constant quarle between my 2 friends 99 ecplises one auto the other manual, it was only till recently when I tried racing after many many months that the manual got me by a half a length. With an auto it just means you have to do more, does it have an overdrive like the ecplise? That can hurt you, and read the drag racing automatics thread, that might help, d1, d2 , etc. help a lot.
