H&R Sport in sedan - Why not?
Hey guys, I was looking through springs for my ride and was contemplating H&R's (dreaming again). However, when viewing available applications for their sport springs, I saw that their part # 51866 was NOT for 4-dr EX's. I know of one person who I think put these on his EL (Same as mine, essentially a rebadged EX sedan) - dmak I think? So I guess it should fit. However, if one checks applications for springs from most other manufacturers, one sees that the springs are usually the same for all the 7th-gen Civics (except Si/SiR), be they coupe or sedan. So why the exception by H&R? Do they just not like me?

well, I am not saying that I am 100% correct. I think that is the reason. I believe Gold Line makes the springs for the sedan but I could be wrong. I know I saw them somewhere.

yea that and i think the sedan has a different weight distribution than the coupe so you would need different spring rate and stiffness especially in the back where the sedan sags more..

I wouldn't buy any set of springs that isn't made specifically for the sedan. Something is different between the sedan and coupe that causes the sedan's rear to sag when using springs that do not differeniate between models.
Neuspeed Sport is what you want if you have a sedan and want to drop your baby.
I had prokit springs to begin with and my rear dropped to the top of the tires while the front only dropped an inch. I have neuspeed sports now and have a pretty even drop front and rear. I am just saying this so you know I have exerienced this first hand and am not relying on hear-say.

ya only springs i recommend on sedans are neuspeeds.. i dont even recommend the goldlines..
i think reason why h&rs arent meant for 4 door EX's is the spring hits the control arm or something.. i dunno i forgot but i know something was hitting the springs on the 4 door ex's probably has something to do with abs and how things are located a little differently

I went to tire pros yesterday and the guy told me that Neuspeed doesnt make 4 door springs ne more. I'm pretty sure he was lying to me. Does ne one no for sure if he was or not. Oh yea anthoer thing he said that nobody makes 205/45/17. Another thing he said was if they did that they wouldn't fit. But I have read about so many people having 205/45/17 on their cars. Can someone please straighting this out for me. Thanks A LOT.
