Raced friends 88' 323

Tonight my friend and I got bored so we decided to have a little fun. Finally after a couple lights the road was deserted. We looked at each other and nodded. I revved to about 2700. When the light turned green I dumped the clutch and floored it. I just sat there for a second burning out and then finally caught traction. Even though I had a bad start I put about 1/2 a car on him in first. At the end of second I was about 3 car lengths ahead. I shut it down at 75mph, part of the way through third. He had already quit, so there was no need to go on.
I pretty much knew that I would win with his car being that old, but it was still fun.
After that we decided to go race on a road with lots of tight turns. We always go there to try out our cars handeling. Its a really nice black top road through the woods where they are going to build a subdivision some day. I started off first and he was behind me(not really a race since there is only enough room for one car). I hit the first turn and he was still behind me, so I decide to go a little faster through the next turn even though its way sharper. I noticed that he wasn't as close behind me before the turn so after I slide through the turn and get a little ways down the road I slow down to watch him. At first he did fine but then I noticed that I could see his tail lights. Sure enough his back end comes all the way around he skids to a stop. He had done a complete 180 and some how managed to stay on the road. He cranked up his car after it died and I met him at the end of the loop. He was alright and so was the car, but after that we called it a night. I can't believe all the stupid stuff we have done and yet us and our cars are still in one piece. Just thought I would share my night. Any one else have any good/bad/weird stories about their cars lately?

Sorry I should have been more clear. It is an 88' Mazda 323 hatchback.
It's official, I am an idiot now.

Yea, i did the same thing your friend did, i was testing out my car thru an industrial zone, and ended up oversteering a drift around a wide corner, headed towards a curb so instictivly pulled away from the curb and slammed the brakes, car whipped around teh otehr direction, made a full 180 and i ended up facing the other direction in teh "correct" lane of the road. My friend thought that i did it on purpose, and if he knew i didnt he probably would have freaked out that we were going to crash. We just sat there like until we started talking about what i did wrong, needless to say i know what i did wrong now and try not to do it anymore. Sicne then i have only oversteered a power slide once and it was because i hit a bit of cold pavement with some black ice, but i managed to recover it before teh back end got too far out.
