Did I blow my Speakers?

I noticed that the rear speakers have been soundy scratchy recently. However, when I change the fader, so all the sound is in the rear, the scratching goes away!? With the setup I have, how likely is it that I have blown the speaker?

Pioneer Premier 840MP HU
US Acoustics 4085 4-Channel Amp (Their site rated it at 85W X 4 Channels at 12.9 V)
Infinity Reference 6953I 6x9 3-Ways (100 W RMS, 300W Peak)

get a 9v battery, to check if it blown, if it moves and make a sketching noise then ur fine

Sweet....so they're not blown

Is it possible just to "stress" a speaker which would result in distortion at certain frequencies?

aww man...its a deep thought by jack handy from saturday night live. they're usually really stupid but funny.....i don't know how he thinks of that stuff
