Ground Control Squeek Rear (already searched)
I just installed my Ground Control Coilovers and I absolutely love the way it looks.. But I am having a little problem with them and was hoping someone could help me out.. I read the post about the pvc shower mat for the front but I have an anoying squeek coming out of the rear... It sound kind of like rubber or something rubbing somewhere... Just wondering if anyone had the problem and if anyone knows how to get rid of that sound... Thanks

I lowered it around two inches all the way around. I have a finger gap all the way around.. The squeeking noise is really nasty but other than that I real happy with the Ground Controls...The adjustability is extremely easy and the install wasnt that hard either... I love 'em but I really hate the damn noise the rears make...Someone help please..!!!!!
Get some really viscous grease, grease up the inside/outside of the urethane sleeve, and the squeeking will go away. Don't use WD40 or anything like that, but get some axle grease or white lithium grease.

It is rather easy to adjust. For me I didnt have to take off the wheel to adjust them but thats only because I have wide thin spokes and could put my hand through there... Thanks for the grease idea I was thinking there had to be something like that I could good.. Thanks Again

nah man its san marcos california. lift up the car in the rear and make sure everything is sitting correctly the spring is centered and the rubber collar thing on top is sitting in the spring. let the car down and make sure everything is lined up.
if that doesn't fix it I don't know. It might be the bushings in the upper arm getting used to being lowered.

Yeah I took of the rear assembly yesterday and greased up anything that was making contact and I havent heard a squeek yet (cross my fingers).. Thanks for all the replies you all were more than helpful..
I have Ground Control and my front drivers sides makes a poppin noise every time I hit a bump. I've had them for about a year now. I hate that damn noise and its only in the front drivers side.
Is the GC sleeve sitting 'level' on the perch(when the weight of the car is on the spring)?
Do you have a urethane spacer sleeve inside the GC sleeve between the stock strut housing?
Is the bolt holding the Koni on the bottom of the stock strut housing tight(they come loose occasionally, as the threads are a large helical width, I added extra lock washers to mine)?
Do you have camber bolts up front(that side is tight)?
Umm, you might try jacking up that corner, and hand turning the spring about 90 degrees on axis. Test drive it afterwards, see if it still makes that noise. This sometimes works cause of where the 'end' of the spring sits in relation to the motion of the perch/strut. Changing this location, might resolve the noise.

My rear GC coilovers also started making noise after driving through a dirt lot. All I did was grease the upper urethane perch and installed a plastic washer between spring and lower perch. I made it with the plastic lids that come on coffee cans. Noise is eliminated
