Dodge Neon/Dakota Hybrid?
I just got back from changing my oil. The guys that change it always sit there and talk to me. Today he was asking me if I raced the civic. I was like "No, not really." And he was like, "Man, you need to go to such and such a place on saturday nights. They do a little drag racing over there." I'm part of the really big import crew around here and I've never heard of this. So either he's bullshitting or there's another crew that nobody knows about. Anyway, he ends up telling me about a Dodge Neon that is beating everyone out there. He claims that some guy took a neon, put a Dakota R/T (or whatever) motor in it and converted it to RWD with the Dakota rear axle. Is that possible? If so that must be one bad *** car. I'll be creepin around out there this weekend. If it's there I'll come back with some pics for you guys. But I was wondering if it's possible, and has anyone ever heard of this being done.
No way that V8 is going to fit unless the guy is sitting in the back seat. Ever see the 4 cylinder in a neon, it is packed in there as is, I am suprise the new one actually fits a turbo.
Look under the hood of your car and the hood of any V8 car (or truck as the case maybe) there is a considerable size difference. To get that V8 under the hood you would have to extend the engine bay quite a bit. You can see the extend bay it's noticable if they put that v8 in there. If he did get that in there then I bet it would kick everyone elses butt. Let us know if that guy you were talking to was full of it or if someone actually has a good neon.
