Ebay Bars...Any good?

I personally hate the steering feel and response in our cars but I dont have the money to throw at it right now to go big bucks on suspension improvements. I've seen the strut tower bars on ebay and I was wondering if anyone here has them and if they make any difference. Thanks a lot .

IMO they stiffen up the chassis to some degree.. they work, they aren't design for specific vehicles.. not much R&D goes into it.. but they work.

and they're cheap on the wallet. so.... sometimes its probably best to get a 20 bucks item that performes 80% instead of a 100 bucks item that performes 100%.

I'll grab one but wouldn't expect a world of a difference in improvement. but you'll stiffen up ur chassis on the front nevertheless.

the only problem with these bars is if you have a intake, the bar won't fit (at least with a AEM CAI). I bought a cheap one and had to return it because of that. For the front, the only ones that do fit to my knowledge are Neuspeed and DC. For the back though, it should be fine.

ok, sure it fits...but does it do anything?!?! For some of them, the shipping is more than the product!!! It seems a little too unbelieveable...

How do you guys like the bar?

I'm just not convinced that you can get the same results as the neuspeed bar with such cheap material. Convince me otherwise!

They will help stiffen up your car. However, if you go down the list of steps for suspension modifications, it goes
1. Tires
2. Springs/struts
3. Sway bars
4. Strut/torsion bars.
You won't notice much of improvement unless you have these done. It's like icing on a cake. The last step.

Strut torsion bars should be the first other than the tires. Once you mess up the car's geometry, you car will just get worse and worse as the geometry gets misaligned.

And it should be this:

1. Wider rims/Bigger rims(usually plus two -17 inchers; 17x8 w/45 offset is wonderful/tires
2. Dampers/springs/coils/strut bars/roll cage/floor bars
3. Sway bars/tie bars

Each has a cause and effect. You stiffen the springs, your unibody car will twist and twist some more. You get strut bars, you stock springs/dampers will dive more into the turns. Unless you know how to control that, I would not suggest driving on three wheels yet. Funny how you have to change more than one things. But I guess this is for people who care about performance and their car.
