How long does it take for Stainless or Chrome headers to change color?

yeah it heats up fast and burns fast.
if u have a rainbow effect the material of the header is either eh.. or u got some stains on it and its burned in..
my aftermarket header sitting in my room has some thumb prints burned into it. heh.
and its turning gold/brown I believe.
I dont even know why they bother having it chrome and stuff.

That "cool" effect is called "bluing" or something to that effect. It'll happen because of the high-heat from the exhaust. Sometimes it means a car or Bike is running too hot when it does this.
I know you're looking to have it happen, but if you're trying to prevent it, there is a chemical for Bike exhausts that is an anti-bluing agent. It'll keep it nice and clean. I personally like the blue titanium or burnt look on the JIC exhausts...wish they weren't more expensive than brain surgery

ther's a bolt stuck in the hole.. and I haven't finish drilling it out ... I think the hole needs to be rethread too.. so... never got around to fixing that.
I duno, I might keep it too.. I think it really gave some power.. the rpm climbs much faster in the low end. I've been driving long enough to notice that.. at first I thought it was in my head only but the rpm clearly reaches certain points faster... and takes just a bit less rpm than at certain mph.... (ie: usually I'm going 60 mph in 5th gear and its 3,000 rpm.. but now its 2,900)
but yeah it could just be good driving condition for the mph instances.
