Wow strange it goes on the bottom of the LCA locations Does the base model RSX have one of those

it works in the same concept though.. prevents tear in the subframe... and stiffens the LCA up a bit more...
the comptech integrated tie bar there just makes it look puny though.

Yeah, I actually realized where it goes today too!
I saw a good pic of it on ClubRSX.com when I was looking at sway bars.
If you want it, then you can buy it from: www.acuraautomotiveparts.net
Look for "FRONT SUB FRAME- PERFORMANCE ROD" for the RSX. You'll need one part 5 and four part 8. It'll cost you $26.97 shipped. Not bad for a tie bar. That's basically what it is. A lower tie bar. I'm gettin' the Progress sway bar with the integrated tie bar, so I think that I won't need it. Actually, I think it's useless if you buy a regular tie bar since that will stiffen that part of the sub frame more and it'll render the part that stiffens less useless since it won't be under any pressure. Well, maybe not totally useless. Although much less effective. Anyway, it's k3wl to have for just $25. I might get it anyway...

its not useless. if it mounts straight up and there's already holes for the bolts, there shoudlnt' be any reasons why you cant use the generic tie bar and the RSX lower tie bar...
I think I may do that too if there are already holes for me to mount the bar in... another 26 bucks but I can live with that.
the red bar is Comptech's tie bar thats intergrated in its rear sway bar.. Comptech has a swaybar/tie bar combo out for our car.. its super expensive..
that pic there is a good pic I found for the RSX rear tie bar/rod... its just an installation pic, but shows the comptech tie bar too.

Well... I talked about this with my father (a mechanical engineer). We agree that the element that is stiffer will render the other element useless. So if the tie bar is much much stiffer, then the little RSX bar doesn't help with the stiffness of that element. If the little RSX thingie is stiffer than the tie bar, then the tie bar doesn't do anything. It depends I guess... Overall I'de have to say that having both is safer since each element will not perfectly stiffen those two chasss points.
