It just upgrades you gas quality. It's like buying super premium 100 octane instead of 94 regular octane. It's not real NOS.

yea, it works if your car is detonating due to crappy low octaine gaslone and/or because you are running too much boost on a FI set or too much timing advance on a high strung NA engine. Also this stuff really only raises the octaine of 92 unleaded like 1.5 points
Whats all that mean? Its snake oil. If you need to run higher octaine, buy 100 race gas from a punp station. only reason why id use that octaine booster is if i had a car that REQUIRED premium and i accidentaly put in medium or low.

I used to drag race my old eclipse alot and here's what it did for me...
I ran a 15.3 AVG with my 95 non turbo eclipse. Dump the NOS fuel additive, 15.43. Now it can help, but there's something a little more to it that some people do not know. Some ECU's, including ours, adjust settings according to the fuel. A change of octane for just that one day of racing after you've been running 89 or 91 for months will only hurt your time. You need to do some driving first with that additive to allow time for the ECU to adjust itself. But HondaGuru is correct, it does help for detonation. Keep it in your car in case you dump a lower fuel in by mistake.

WHO THE HELL ARE YOU? Have you been shopping lately? OMG I can't beleive your post.
Well, that being said, NOS (THE COMPANY) makes a fuel additive. The have 3 formulas. Street, Race, and I think the other was off road or sumthin but I honestly dont remember. The street states a 3 point (octane point that is) gain. Race being 10.
SO THERE!! BEEEYIIIIYYYIITTCH. LOL just playing, just be more careful next time.
*Its 6 bucks by the way for the street formula.

On that note, all higher octane gas does is help with detonation. The higher the octane, the less prone to detonation it is.
It's not like if you go from 87 to 92 octane gas, you will run a faster 1/4 mile... unless you were suffering from some detonation or heat problems from the lower octane gas.

Why must you take things so literal? NOS is a COMPANY like I stated in my previous post. You state that it stands for Nitrous Oxide Systems. Nitrous Oxides Systems make OCTANE BOOST for automobiles. Where the hell in this topic did someone state they were dumping N20 in their gas tank? Don't think ANYONE on this site is that dumb to do so.
I can see you are looking for conflict. Bad Johnny son. Bad.

I'll reply with something actually useful.
Say a bottle of octane booster advertises a 4 point octane gain. It's true. However, a 4 point octane gain is really only .4. Adding a bottle to 94 octane gas will give you 94.4 octane gas.

Providing your engine is stock or near stock (no changes in timing) then increasing the octane rating will do NOTHING. Higher octane fuel prevents knocking. If your engine in not knocking then your are pouring money down the drain. Higher octane will NOT increase power or fuel mileage - it will only decrease the amount of money in your wallet.
I dont know if u will notice any hp gains but it will def run a lil smoother with the additive. I used to have an 2001 LS1 T/A 6 speed and I had a bunch of lil mods and i used to run that race stuff with every tank of 96 octane i put in, thats all I ever ran for the longest time. It does take a lil for the ECU to adjust tho. I went on a trip to my grandparents in maine and ran crap gas, theres def a BIG difference! lol even after a 400 mile trip I still noticed.
