My buddy saw it lastnight and said it wasn't as good as the first one.
I'm still going to go see it though.

gotta watch it to believe it
I saw it at 12:02 on wed. too, I thought it was much better than the first one, more action with some humor. It's 3 hours, but you don't really notice the time go by. It's not a standalone movie though, you would be way too confused if you didn't see the first one.
saw it late last nite and IT WAS AMMMAAAZZZIINNNGGG!!! and damn! the theatres were PACKED!!!!!!!!!! we had to sit in the front!!!!!! it was so hard to focus, had to keep moving to head left and right... got me a bit dizzy during the fightin part... argh! now my neck hurts .. but.. IT WAS WORTH THE PAIN!!!
Saw it on Wednesday too.... it was WICKED!! You definitely have to see the Fellowship first before the 2 towers or else you'd be super confused.
Watched it at 9 at the coliseum, so around 6:30 I started the Fellowship of the Ring at my girlfriend's house then went straight to the theatres. hahaha
I think they're both as good. I like the 2 towers because it has a better ending than the 1st one. if you can call it an ending. Can't wait until next year.

I saw it on Wednesday night and i really liked it! i thought it was really good, and the battle at helms deep was just like i had pictured it from the book!
the only thing that disapointed me was it didn't go quite as far as it did in the book, or else the movie would have been alot longer, but they'll probably include it in the next movie! But still, doing quite a good job at remaining true to the books!
