Genuine Honda OEM Foglights. Good?
I was wondering how is the foglight beam on these OEM civic fogs? Any problems with it? Are they bright? Sharp cutoff? Thanks

i think they are the cleanest looking fogs around. The light output is pretty good. My only complaint is the lens . they are glass and not that thick so a good rock hit would crack it . I'm on my second set but I still like them more than other aftermarket ones.

I think your better off with the OEM ones cause theyre SAE (society of automotive engineers) approved. Meaning the optics are precisely controlled, you'll have a decent cutoff with no hotspots. I personally prefer a razor sharp cutoff like that of the S2k

the honda ones will have the correct fitting harness. the fogs themselves are identical. exept that the originals ahve a little metal thingie surrounding the bulb. the oem "style" ones for procarparts does not have this. I think it narrows the beam down. and channels light. mine are not as sharp as they where from honda but i don't really care.

I've been eyeballing those replicas for a long time myself. I was hoping to get wheels first, but I may cave in and get the fogs.
I think they really spruce up the looks of the car, even if you don't use them much. I had some Catz lights on my previous car and they were killer. I'm torn between getting another set of the Catz or the oem replicas. What do you guys think...Catz or Oem style?
Here's a pic of the Catz MSX lights and a pic of them on my old SHO. Options Auto Salon has the Catz for $92.

Yeah, I'm like you. I prefer the oem look...but I was really impressed with the catz. I've seen them on a civic here somewhere (I think) and they were slick.
edit: After a little searching, I found a car with similar lights. A member named Yukonart has some Piaa 001 Solitaire Plasma Blue Driving Lights on his/her ride. Looks pretty good, eh?

That "thingie" you refer to is a light shield, it is made to deflect light into the reflector for proper optics manipulation... without that, you might as well hold a maglite out your drivers window

i allready have the OEM Fog light, installed from dealer, yesterday i just found out the driver side fog light lens is broke, either someone broke it or rock from the freeway.
if i buy the oem style fog light from ProCarParts.com, should i change both of them or just change the broken one??? which one is better????
OEM = $200s + s/h
ProCarParts.com $99 + s/h

does anyone know where to buy that headlight protection film in plain sheets? i want to get the oem fogs, but i'm worried about them breaking. also do the oem fogs make a *that* big of a difference in crappy weather?
