Non-EX Sway Bar Parts
Which parts would someone need to buy for a HX/LX/DX from Majestic Honda to be able to buy the RSX rear sway bar and make it a strait bolt on? Their diagrams suck and don't really tell you what all you need.
Hey bro, just go to progress auto for the sway bars. They are freakin sweet and not to bad of price. Just go to products then anti roll bars. They have a 26mm front bar and a 22mm rear bar. The rear is 250, driect bolt up. The front does not have a price listed but I'm sure it's not too much more than the rear. Later bro

for a DX/HX/LX, I'll go with aftermarket, since there wont be a bolt on OEM... you gotta weld in the mounting points for the endlinks...
the diagrams are really good, actually... its just u dont know what u need. heh.
for the price, progress rear sway with tie bar seems to be a good deal...

i already have a rear sway bar...I have an LX sedan.
It's really skinny, though (straw like, its stock)...am I mistaken?
I thought we weren't supposed to have the rear ones?

I have a 2002 DX and I actually just installed the the progress mounting kit and the rear sway bar Monday. I've been meaning to post a review and how the process went with some pictures but it's been snowing like mad. I'm taking the pics today though so they'll be up later tonight. PM me if you any of you have any questions.
btw - 22mm sway bar/tie combo from progress. It's amazing. oversteer in a FWD car. : )
EDIT : Oh I forgot to mention where I got the parts. If you're looking for mountaing hardware you can either try www.matrixracing.com or call Progress Auto directly. You can get their number from www.progressauto.com. They don't list the part on the web site or anywhere yet for that matter (except Tornactive.com I think). The part number is 65.1006. I paid $160 for it DIRECTLY from Progress Auto. Which means I paid out the wazoo. You'll probably pay around $80-100 for it if you get it from Matrix Racing or Tornactive. The reason I went directly through Progress is because I ordered it the week it came out and they hadn't shipped to their distributors yet. I still don't think they have because none of the web sites except Tornactive is listing them. So. Try Tornactive I think he just got a shipment in from Progress. For the sway bar you can try Tornactive also or Matrix Racing. I paid about $230 for the bar shipped.

Depends on who you order through, but I'll tell you what it cost me.
$230 For 22mm Progress Rear Sway Bar (shipped)
$160 for Progress Adapter Kit (shipped)
$5 for 6 3/8 Nylon Locking Nuts
I wasn't happy with some of the nuts they sent me in the kit so I decided to go to home depot and purchase some better nylon locking nuts.
That's $395 (wow I didn't realize I spent that much) lol : )
I decided to install it myself. Very easy. Minor drilling and simple bolting. Putting the Adapter Kit together is a bit trickey because the "instructions" are vague, but we didn't run into any problems.
If you do AutoX or you're really into suspension work as I am I definitely recommend this sway bar and kit if you don't already have a sway bar. It makes a world of difference especially if you're still riding on stock shocks. (i'm on KONIS)
EDIT : I'm not sure how much it would cost to have a garage put that thing on, but it took me about 4 hours to do the job and I'm sure they'll take longer than that because that's how they make money (by the hour). So, multiply by that like $65 (the average mechanic's hourly charge around here) and you're up in there in price. Like I said. Do it yourself, it's easy. Just make sure you have the proper tools and a buddy to help you out.

wow 395 bucks. my 19mm rear sway cost me umm... $75? 60 for the bar, and 15 for bushings and bracket...
IMO a better route for those that have rear sway already should go for a 19mm (RSX/TypeS) or 22mm OEM Type R rear sway bar. cheaper. healthier. (19mm runs for about 70-80 bucks total, while 22mm runs for 80-100 at clubrsx.com)
I did NOT know that the adapter kit cost that much. aftermarket sway bars are always so expensive. geez.
for those that have the mounting points already, be glad.
here's a low down... for 01s, only ex have them. HX... might. my memory sucks. 02s, DX dont have them, rest do. 03 same applies I believe.
I felt quite an improvement in how much more neutral the handling got in my ride with my 19mm rear... I believe everyone should upgrade their rear sway. Honda even upgraded the stiffness on 02s! (they have 13mm while 01s have 12mm... I think they went back to 12mm in 03 though. *shrug*)
Do any of you know if the 2001 Acura 1.7EL have rear sways? I can't seem to see it under my car. So I'm assuming the 2001 1.7EL didn't get the sways like the US EX civics? Heck I don't think I have a front sway either!
K, because I undercoated my car the bar is of the same color so i didn't see it. It's there. So how much of a different should I be expecting with this upgrade? I like to take fast corners. On stock suspension still. Should I expect less chrip from tires? Do I also need to upgrade the front sway? It's 25mm if i recall correctly.

I'm not really sure on the size of the rear sway for the EL... but its probably the same as an EX I guess.
upgrading will yield some nice flatness when u take a corner fast... by no means will the car become some sports car, but you will feel the difference.
yeah the tires will probably scream less.
the front is fine. 25.4mm.

I duno about the progress.
I'm sure its quality stuff, but that thing is so freaking heavy compare to a OEM Type R 22mm rear sway.
and the price difference too...

You might be right. The progress is bar is heavy as hell, but it's also 22mm solid all around. The Type R bar may be hollow. Even way, I just wanted to stick with one brand to make things "easier", ya know?

A used 19mm straight from the RSX fits without any problems on our cars correct? Just a direct swap with the existing bar.
