A Ford ZX2 (auto) wants to race my civic lx(auto) will I win? I have some after market parts for my car, and the ZX2 has none "bone-stock". I would like to know your opinions.

Lets look at the specs....
zx2- 130hp@5750rpm
-127lbs torque
-4 speed auto
-2.0l eng.
-9.6:1 compretion

civic lx -115hp@6100rpm
-110lbs torque
-4speed auto
-1.7l eng
-9.5:1 compretion

depending on what your extras are you it should be close. but overall you should win. your lighter and have a better gear ratio and top out rpm. give him hell and let the honda name stand proud.....good luck.

best thing for you to do is put it in 1, run it up as high as you can, then shift to 2, and eventually go to drive. If the other guy doesn't do it, then it'll give you a little advantage.

wanna know my opinion? bullsh*t comments like that dont make you smart, just a p/w. Once again do we have to turn this into another one of those "auto vs. stick" drag racing threads? Anyone here thats going to give their 2 cents is going to comment on how some of the BEST drag racers use an automatic transmission. If we really want to get into how not having a manual for road racing is NOT racing either, then why dont we all just say that its not really racing if you dont have rear whel drive either? Or how about we just say if you dont have manual transmission, rear wheel drive, OR know how to drift your car its not really racing (watch too much Initial D lately or something)? Dude, get a F**kin life and quit hashin on everyone else.

i really really hate to say it but before my civic and before my prelude i owned a 5-speed zx2 and i know that it (bone-stock) could run with my 5-speed ex coupe (dc tcs exhaust). so, depending on how your mods are, i would have to put my money on the escort, even tho they have the absolute sh*tiest transmissions ever!

25000 dollar car vs 15000 dollar car. 1 sporty other economy. let me ask you, what exactly are you getting at? if i threw down for a wrx (which i wouldnt cause they are overhyped) it would be stick. guess what, a stick wrx would slap you around like a red headed step child (stock vs stock). hell even road and track said "the automatic transmission in the wrx is sluggish at best" i cant believe you got a wrx in auto...lol

btw i would have taken that wrx money and put it into a 2.5 rs (which is a lot cheaper) and just turboed that one. it already has half a litre displacement advantage over the wrx.

You cannot keep it in 1st gear on an automatic...all you can do is push the pedal and then bring it down to D2, which keeps it locked on 2nd gear.

Dude, the ZX3 should win....more HP, more TQ....Our showcar this year was an 02LX Auto..what a pile. I put about 5 buslentghs on it. Our company beater (95 explorer with 150,000 miles) walked it in any gear.....

EVEN with AEM Intake, Thermal cat back exhaust, and AEM pulleys...

So how did you pay for the AUTO wrx, that you drive to School? did you pay for it yourself? or did someone help you out a little? If you paid for it yourself, goodshow. But since it's an auto, and you use it to get to school, i don't think you did. If you HAD to get an auto because you have to drive in too much heavy traffic (oh no, not your leg, how terrible). why would you buy a WRX, and not something more comfortable, and suited to be an auto, like ohhh, an IS300, G35, or even an accord V6. You sound like some spoiled ricer.

I wouldn't be snapping comments about what people can and can't afford if you didn't even pay for your own car. I know I could easily afford a WRX. but i don't have one.

i know i cant just walk out and buy a rs right now. im saying that you spent your money like an idiot. jumped on the wrx bandwagon cause its too hyped. i said "if i had the money for a wrx i would have bought a 2.5rs and turboed that with the difference in prices". youre worse than the ricers that take beat up accords and invest more money in the wheels than the car is worth. youre the type who is spoiled and lazy; who runs to mommy and daddy cause of EVERY little problem.
