ROD, SUBFRAME PERFORMANCE in 01 LX

I was wanting to do this mod ever since the thread emerged about it (click) Grey had to drill and tap two more holes, which looks like such a pain, because his 01 didnt have the second holes there. But upon further inspection my 01 LX had the second holes there. So if anyone was hesitant about doing this to their car because of what Grey had to do...check if you have the holes...I installed the rod today and after a little test run i noticed a big difference in front stability...

Interesting. I wonder if an 02 DX will have the holes. Can you give me a part # ?? Quickly if possible so I can get one today before honda closes..

I just got back from Honda and I ordered the part. I have an 02 DX. I only have one hole on each side. Do you think there will be a problem if it's only bolted in with one hole??

By the way the part # : 74230-S5A-900

That's for the bar with the BEND in it. (Manual Transmission)
Sorry I don't have the other part #.
Part # for the bolts and flange : 90801-S5A-000

If you said you could notice it after you installed it than it's definitely worth the $50. I just hope you're not tricking yourself into thinking you felt a difference. That normally happens with minor performence mods. : )

nope! no trickery here...just look at what grey said in the thread i linked above..he agrees... as for only one hole per side...i wouldnt try it...you'd be better off drilling and tapping a hole

Well I went outside to check if i had the hole, grey had to drill out and I found out my car already has it predrilled out. I have a 2001 civic 5 speed got it right before the 2002's came out though so i don't know if that makes any difference. Might have to take a picture and post it to be sure, i'm just comparing with greys' pics.

oh ok! This is wonderful. Apparently the 2002 DX's have the hole!! : )

I failed to notice that grey said he used an existing bolt for the top part of the rod. It's the bottom bolt that holds the steering rack on. wooo!

whats consider a late 2001? heh.

I hope mine has the holes, gonna buy 'em if they do. dont like the idea of it being affixed with two bolts instead of the required 4.

I've got a 2001 EX Coupe and only had 1 mounting hole per side. Installed the bar with only that one hole it it still makes a noticable difference. Definitely a good investment considering it's so cheap.
