Just intalled my Tanabe Super Down Precedeo Spring

Hi folks,

I just installed my Tanabe Super Down Precedeo lower spring on my 2002 civic sedan and I have to say I'm really pleased with it. Nice drop too, about 2 inches, I can bearly put two fingers in between the wheel and wheel well. I have a 205-50-16, might be abit lower than Neuspeed. Tanabe gives a very comfortable drive. not like race spring. Good for everyday driving and even when your adrenaline is up. In all thumbs up, no funny noises too, just another alternative to all civic fans. Got them here in Thailand for about $199 with installation.

Chaos,

Thaicivic

eh, sounds like a similar drop to neuspeeds. i have a 1 finger gap with 215-40-18 on neuspeeds. your tires are .7" smaller making the gap .35" smaller. 1 finger is about .35" i would say...

I'll try to post a pic next week, I'm away this weekend. Did you change your damper/shock to Koni or are you using stock ? I have a friend installed the tanabe spring with stock damper and it was abit bouncy but acceptable. No the Tanabe Super Down Precedeo for my Honda ES (sedan 1.7) is in Black color, not purple. You can look up at www.rd-tanabe.com and they will show you that the Super Down Precedeo color is in black only, and red for wagon. It has the word precedeo stamped in gold on all the spring, comes straigt from Japan.

Yes, I'm sure it was black because I opened it and took it out of the box for inspection before installation. I'm not sure on the purple thing, it might be for US specs ??? All of my friends in our civic clubs here have black tanabe super down spring. Ask the dealer whom you bought them from.

Hi PicCoLoboi02

Sorry to ask, but what kind of problems are you having with your spring ? I will take some pics of my ride and the spring box and possibly the spring if I can see with the camera. What shocks did you use, Konis ?? For me, I adjusted the rear shock to its stiffest setting while setting medium stiff for my front, I find this combo quite pleasing though not as soft as the stock, of course.

hey no prob...my rear tires r liked tucked in then the front....in the front the gap is like 2 fingers but at the bak...i can barely fit half on my finger in it and my fingers r small. I have stock shocks with the springs rite now but i'll waiting for the Tokicos to come out. I asked the shop about it and he said if i get a full camber kit and an alignment it should raise the gap 1/2 inch but i dunno. Is yours nice and even? has the springs settle in yet?

hey spooner...i can show you the situation with my springs if you want...just lemme know. I just got a full camber kit and plan to install it this weekend. The guy at a shop said after i put on my cambers and get a wheel alignment..it should go out pretty even...o well, sooner or later i'm gonna need the cambers.
