0 - 60 TIMES EVERYONE!
I'm driving a 2002 EX Automatic. My best 0 - 60 was 9.07 seconds! My worst was 10.22 seconds! Now I notice that the car will sometimes shift
at 6600rpm, and sometimes shift at 7000 rpm. Since the 2nd gear is 1.495, the car is ******* after first trying to get up there! I wish the car could be a little more constant! Oh, and running 89 octane or higher takes off about 3/10's on average! This is what I suspected because the stock engine is designed for 87 octane. All and all I average about 9.65. Can anyone else please post their 0 - 60 times ? Stock & w/ MODS!

Yes, it really does have twice as much torque as your Civic
Which by 3rd grade math... 155/2 does not equal 114.

Well, I'd really love to hear how you pulled 228 ft-lbs of torque on the flywheel out of that engine. Last time I checked, the 2001 1.8T was 150 HP and 155 ft-lbs of torque.

What, you thought my car was stock? You're exactly the kind of guy I love to meet at stop lights. 0-60 in 7.9.... LOL!
Just for reference, according to G-Tech my car did 0-60 in 7.6, STOCK. Of course that was 50 hp and 100 lb-ft ago.

Well, at least you can verify it. I'm not quite sure how the hell I'm just supposed to assume out of nowhere what you did to your car

Oh, and 7.9 is repeatable... plenty of other people have pulled 7.9x 0-60 times on here too.
Besides, I'm not dumb enough to street race.... I'll keep my speeding to a track, thank you.

There are bone stock LS1 Camaros and Firebirds that would make you look slow. And you are
modded
And there are Dodge Vipers that would make LS1s look slow.
Slow is relative. There's always someone faster. Why not just respect other people who are car enthusiasts, just like yourself?

0-60 is a worthless measurment of a cars performance.
Only standards Id care about are 0-100-0, 1/8 mi, 1/4 mi, and 60'
edit: next person to quote GTECH times gets a tazer to the nuts. that thing is about as accurate as a dart player with Parkinson’s syndrome.

"4 cylinders + 20 valves " Mad exhaust scavenging yo!
youre pretty funny.
"Yes, it really does have twice as much torque as your Civic "
well since we are talking about our modified cars...
No, it really doesnt. didnt we already cover this? 250/2 does not = 182

No need to make fun of someone just because their car may not be as fast as yours.

As for the car enthusiast comment, I would respect you guys but I find it difficult to get enthusiastic about a car (7th gen civic) that has so little to offer. Take the Si for example. The previous generation Si was better than the current car in every way (ok, except maybe the seats). I guess it all depends on how you define enthusiast. The person (like most here) who takes a slow econo box and puts huge wheels, huge wings, obnoxious body kits, fart can exhaust and loads of stickers is not an enthusiast IMO. It is merely someone with money and bad taste. Quoting 0-60 times of 7.9 seconds and thinking that is fast even by modern compact car standards is just evidence of that. Show up in the above-mentioned stickered car at an SCCA autocross or NASA track event or whatever where the real auto enthusiasts hang out and watch as everyone laughs their asses off at you. Ok maybe they won't do it to your face but they'll be laughing inside.
I'm sure you all disagree with me, but that is my opinion, so feel free to flame, argue, whatever.

GTI20v,
Actually I do agree with you. I cannot stand the ricer trend that is sweeping the nation. The body kits and the fart pipes and the stickers are just obnoxious. I really hope the majority of the people here are not ricers. You can own a Civic or an Integra and not be a ricer.
But I do think that people should respect anyone who is actually a performance enthusiast and wants to make his or her car faster. If the person is respectful and has a good attitude and understand there is always someone faster, I can respect someone even if they drive a Civic that isn't exactly "fast" by my standards.
Anyway, GTI it sounds like you have a nice car. Do you have any track times? I've never really seen any GTIs at my local race track, so I'm not sure what they run stock or what they can run with mods.
