Neuspeed race ride quality...?
Neuspeed race ride quality...?
I'm about to purchase some Neuspeed race springs for my coupe and was just curious as to the ride quality. Is it really bouncy or is it relatively smooth (considering how low it is)? I used to own an Accord with Skunk2 coilovers slammed to the ground, how would the ride compare to that? I don't want to get something too harsh cuz the 'ol wifey drives it as well...
How bad will it be without the camber kits? Liveable or serious problem?
I just bought some 18" Tenzo R Shu-4's from a buddy of mine that I will put on the Civic at the same time, but the problem I have is, he had 225/40-18 rubber on them (hey, I got them for $700, tires/wheels, so I can't complain). I've done the calculation and found that 215/40-18 are the closest to the factory diameter, but these tires are in mint shape and I want to use them up. They look sort of wide, but will they hold me over until I get the right size? Or are they too wide to fit the fenders? Anybody have any pics of a civic with 225/40-18s on it?

I would say the ride will be very bouncy since my Sportlines are already bouncy enough.
You will need camber kits... for sure! It's not livable and you wouldn't want your tire to wear out fast.

skunk2 slammed is like what 3" drop. and their coilovers, the ride should be the same compared to those. with those springs i highly recommend a camber kit and konis(the only aftermarket shocks available).
damn you got those wheels real cheap. i got my 18s for 1230.
but ya as for them fitting, you'll probably have a problem. 225 is kinda wide. even 40 is kinda thick. i have 215-40-18 on neuspeed sports(check my members page for pics). i have a 1 finger gap all around. i probably cant even fit neuspeed race springs on my car. and if i get a camber kit with my neuspeed sports, i'll probably have to keep some negative camber cause i'm sure the tires will hit the fender well trim. but ya you probably could fit 225-40-18 with neuspeed sports but i think you'll have a problem fitting the race. like i said even i would probably have problems fitting the race. i wish i would have gotten 215-35-18 tires, 215-40-18 is just too thick for 18s.
this one guy that was here had 225-45-18 with ground controls, slammed... but then he gutted the front fender well and rolled the rear fenders. you could it fit, with minor mods such as those...
