CapYoda has a spectacular aura aboutCapYoda has a spectacular aura about
good ones too.

just read the instruction carefully, review a few times.. and make sure you have all the tools.

the first time may take some time to slowly take off parts.. but its easy.

I can take and put my stock intake on and off in 10 minutes.

so take it easy the first time to make sure u dont break anything.. and the chances of that isn't too high anyway.

the DIY section with the AEM CAI DIY is a another good place to find out how to remove ur stock airbox and resonator.

I currently have a polished AEM CAI. What part(s) will I need to put back on, take off, etc. to make the change to the K&N?

SQCivic. All you need to take out is your AEM CAI. hehe

The install shouldn't be so hard. Like macrossranma said, the hardest part is take out the stock air box.

CdKoInU I should get mine on wed and I will install it right away if not raining outside. I should be able to help you if you have any problem.

Installing the K&N FIPK is a piece of cake. I have installed many different intakes for friends and the K&N FIPK came with the best and most detailed instructions (with pictures) I have seen. Don't worry , just make sure you have the correct sockets and it should only take you about 45 minutes max.

took me 2 hrs to do, but it was my first intake, and had to do some hose trimming, plus i didnt wanna lose a socket in the engine bay, thats what happens when i go too fast.

basically AEM=ricer's choice, has the good sound but weak on performance...lose torq. K&N=real choice for performance. but if you're a ricer then go with aem for the sound

I do have the K&N filter on it though. Does this help at all? About how much torq do you think I lose?

Well the problems with AEM are losing low end(but gain in high end) and the filter sat very close to the transmission(suck in a lot of hot air)

From people reviews on the FIPK. The intake did not lose much low end and gained in high end. The heat shield blocked most hot air. The FIPK plastic tube also resisted heat better than the aluminum one AEM used.

If you just want soemthing that will improve a little better performance. You should look into a header upgrade. That will be my next mod =)
