Cherry Bomb

In a post earlier this evening Injencivic asked about using a glasspack as a resonator and it got me thinking (possibly a dumb idea, but thought I would ask anyway). How do you guys think it would sound if we left the stock pipe and resonator alone and just replaced the muffler itself with a cherry bomb glasspack? Just curious, possibly the whitetrash in me wanting to make my car rumble, but I doubt a stock Civic can rumble by just replacing the muffler.

It'll sound really really bad. Ever hear those buzzy civics on the streets? Basically they have the small diameter stock piping and resonator with a straight through muffler. A recipe for crappy sounding disaster.

Cherry Bombs are some of the worst flowing packs around. They'll cramp you flow almost as much as that spaghetti exhaust pipe Honda puts on stock. Get a 2 1/4 exhaust with a good straight through muffler (Borla) and you'll get that low rumble you're looking for.

I had a chevy lumina before my civic and i put a glass packed cherry bomb on it and it claimed to maximize hp. I did feel a difference in throttle response, and it sounded ok at first. Then after a few months it sounded like crap. Don't do it.
