Scroll down to the Flowmaster exhaust. According to the claims it's the least expensive and most powerful. Even features "Unique Hot Rod Type Rumble!" Yay. I'll take 2!

hey! i worked at Flowmaster here in West Sacramento and let me tell u guys...i've seen how this muffler is made and they're claims are nothin but BS!!! they exhaust pipes and mufflers are made of alumized steel...and they had an R&D search for 2001 civic's like ours...i was thinkin' about slappin' it on my car to feel the difference from my ex- DC TCS, but i said nah...wouldn't be worth the wage they pay me to do somethin' like that...anyways, Flowmasters "performance" exhausts are just cheap azz funny lookin' mufflers....and tru, they do sound like shi t. whoever has any questions about the Flowmaster mufflers or exhaust feel free to holla...i'll tell u how they are made and what series they are, etc. One last thing, they don't do nothin' for an import cept make it sound like Rice with Beans!! I had Flowmaster on my Firebird 350 V-8 for 7 years. It got just a little louder, but never rusted or had any problems. Ans yes, on that car it did have that "Hor rod rumble".
Putting a $200 Flowmaster on a Civic it's probably gonna be just as much a power add on as a $500 big name catback.

On a small four like the 1.7, the power gains will be close to most other kits on the market (2-5hp). Flowmaster sounds good on V8 vehicles, especially the older cars and trucks. On a Civic, or any four cylinder I think it would sound "ricey" and would not suggest it.
Some companies list gains, but do not list what vehicles these gains were found on. Civic, Mustang, Integra type R or Corvette. They usually list a gain that looks good on paper, which may or may not correlate to the vehicle in the advertisement. How many times have you seen a product advertised for ten cars but with a dyno chart for only one of them, I would bet that the dyno shown is either (1: the car that will gain the most, or (2: the most popular vehicle that the product will be purchased for.
I had a '90 Camaro V8 with flowmaster and was happy, but I think there are better sounding mufflers for it. I currently have a '78 Chevy 4x4 truck with dual flowmasters and am very happy with its tone and may run dual flowmasters on my '67 Mustang in the future.
Again, I wouldn't put flowmaster with the Civic. I prefer GReddy EVO or DC TCS, and I plan to buy the GReddy EVO for my '01 Civic.
But that's me.
