Stock steelies are about 18-19 lbs
2000 Si Rims are 16.5

18-19?? that's a lot more than I expected. That means that if i get some 17" motegi's which weigh 25 lbs each, i would only be adding about 30 lbs. on my car, which isn't bad at all

Well actually, yes, but effectively, it'll act more like 72 lbs more than stock. Unsprung weight has more effect than sprung weight. Not to mention the added inertia with 17" rims... The weight is concentrated further from the hub, so it'll take more power to turn it.

Glad someone out there understands that when the weight is concentrated further outwards it effects performance even if the wheel weighs the same.

Then look at Rota Wheels... They're cast remakes of expensive Japanese forged wheels (Spoon, Mugen etc....) and they aren't very expensive at all (about $600 for all 4) and they're lightweight.

no money huh??? haha... nah... i have some 17" adr rims for sale (for pics look in classifieds section)... i have 15's on my hatch and they only weigh 12lbs...so the 17's should weigh under 18lbs (same as stock)... i'm selling them for $375 brand new still in box... let me know if you're interested.... here's a pic
