Progress Rear sway bar installed!
I just got done getting my Progress rear 22mm anti-sway bar installed properly. i had it on backwards but now its all good. It handles great, I like the way it feels. I can definitly notice a difference. It just barely clears my exhaust but I put some sound deadener there so it doesnt rattle. I got it off the groupbuycenter if anyone else is interested! It came with the lower brace too. I'll find out tomorrow on the way to work how it really handles because I can take some curvy roads and put it to the test!

I think its strictly for the EX.. but I think they are working on some conversion kit for other models. It comes with urethane bushings, all new bolts, but uses the stock end links, I was hoping for some new endlinks but it fit fine with the stock ones. I got it for 150 , but had to pay 29 for shipping from cali to chicago... I cant get over how thick that thing looks under my car!!!
Wouldnt you rather have the GReenish blue bar instead? another quick question? sorry..but the end links to the rear strut right? cuz i see some other cars go somewhere else...GOOD luck with ur car!!

I've seen the blue/green bar in the pictures but thats not the one I got, I guess that is for some other car, it doesnt really matter because you don't see it anyways... and nothing attaches to the rear strut, It attaches exactly like the factory sway bar except this one is bigger and it incorporates the tie bar....

Looks good. That group buy that you got it from is already over though. I'm waiting on another one to start up. Although maybe I should just e-mail the company that had the group buy and ask them if they have any more of those sway bars in stock?

Hey grey, just call that number on the bottom of that groupbuy from that link I gave you before. That guy would probably hook you up, just tell him that I just got one and you want the same deal. Its funny because that group buy was show n go motor sports, but the UPS label it was shipped form was Island motor sports.
Well I got to test the bar out on the way to work. It handles wonderful. I was taking curves pretty nice. If you take a sharp 90 degree turn fast it almost feels like rear wheel drive because the *** end want to swing around, I think it was a good upgrade. It makes my car feel more responsive when i steer and stiffened up the suspension a little bit in the back. It doesn't squat like it did before when I accelerate. I'm pretty happy with it so far and I already sold my DC lower tie bar so I feel like I got a good deal.

Is this all one unit - rear sway bar and lower tie bar? How much? I'm kinda interested in this was I was going to go for a RSX bar + DC lower tie bar. If this is about the same price and provides better handling, I think I just might have to go with it.

I got the sway bar/tie bar combo for 178 shipped. Its 2 separate pieces looks at the picture. First you mount the silver tie bar. THen the sway bar mounts over the tie bar with the brackets as shown in the picture above. It should work better than the DC/RSX combo. The DC tie bar has joints which could move, where the progress tie bar is solid steel that is welded.

Sway bar looks good!
Do they make a 19mm version or is it just available in 22mm?

Wow, nyce... I wish they would make a direct bolt-on for the LX. How soon do you think they would come out with that.?

now correct me if i'm wrong...i'm sure someone will...doesn't the "reinforcement bar" bolt to the same place as a lower tie bar? and if so I would think it would do the same thing as a lower tie bar right?.
anyways sounds like I will be reconsidering the dc rsx combo.

I'm just wondering... Can you cause damage to the suspension by putting such a big bar under there? It just seems like it would make it so stiff that it may not have enough give.
Also, what do you have on the front to counteract this?

yes you can damage your car by using such a big sway bar if you do not take the correct precautions... that precaution would be getting a rear lower tie bar. it is included in this package.

thanks for the enlightenment Grey.
Hey IDQcivic I was wondering if we could see a pick of the right side of you sway bar to see how close it atually gets to the exhaust. My only concern now is that it clears my TCS system. Thanks

It comes pretty close if not too close! I had a picture but that was when I had it upside down, I can try and take another picture. I had to wrap sound deadener around the bar just to make sure it doesnt rattle. I have an OBX exhaust which I think might be a little thicker than the DC, If I didnt put my body kit on, it would have been fine because I had to add some 1" longer exhaust hangers so if it wasnt hanging down that far it would have cleared the sway bar no problem! Hopefully this helps depending on if you have a kit or not!

I don't know if the bar optauto has is the same that I have but Its says they are out of stock. Just call the guy that I got from my group buy, the number is on page 2 of this thread at the top. The part number you need is #62.0102 and that part number came with the bar, bushings, brackets, bolts, and the tie bar.... Laterz

It is exactly what he needs. It may even be painted blue, as it should be. As you said however, it's out of stock. Has been for a very long time now at Options Auto Salon.
