yep, same here, pioneer 6x9's. at first i thought that was cool to, having name brand speakers in the car, but after i took the rear deck off to see the speakers, i realized that they were junk, and that one of them was RIPPED!!! i'm gonna replace them soon, and just like mohawkboom said, they are cheapo el crappy speakers.

hey, is replacing the rear speakers easy to do? like simply removing the old one and plugging the wires into the newly mounted one?

theres a diy, but its fairly time consuming if you've never taken out the rear deck, which has to be removed along with the seat backs to get access to remove the speakers, not to mention the fact that theres one screw in the back near the base of the window thats a little tricky. at least thats how it was in my 2k1 coupe ex. it was fun, although i did cuss a pretty good bit while doing it.

the $25 crap pioneers are far better than the stocks. after changing my HU, i switched my backs out with those, and putting amped RF 6.5's up front. some rear fill is better than none.

yeah, what the f**k was the deal with that screw. I just took my rear speakers out to act as ports into the cab for my subs. not a bad job, but my window was tinted and I was REALLY worried about ripping the tint getting to those screws. RECOMMEND A RATCHET!!!
