Car Scratched...How much should I expect to pay for a new Paint Job?
Yeah I have a black one and it got all scratched up today EVERYWHERE b/c they were decorating my car for a parade... Anyways, I was just curious of how much a GOOD quality paint job should run me (not Maaco). I'm pretty sure that I'm not gonna get one, but its just an option in mind.
Oh, and wut should I do to fix my MINOR scratches? Touch up paint? I'm gonna wash and wax and put some Scratch stuff on there tomorrow. If I got touch up paint, I'm just afraid that I wouldnt know how to put it on correctly without making a mess... Thanx guys...

First take it to a good detailer or paint shop and have them buff and polish the scratches out.
If that doesn't do it, then a good, complete paint job would be around $3-4k. A touch-up of the scratched areas would come in under $1000.
This may seem expensive but remember that your car is black.
You can, of course, find cheaper places...just keep in mind that you DO get exactly what you pay for.

Hey thanx man... I've also noticed that you live in Dallas, so of course I'm gonna ask "Where are some good detailing shops around here?" What exactly do they do during a detail and how pricey is it? I was just reading about some kind of stuff called Meguar's Glaze something... And I guess I'll try Meguar's Scratch X too... What would YOU do? Thanx man....
Oh yeah, by the way the scratches arent deep, they're like just white looking on the surface... Not exactly a swirl, but maybe deeper...

you can always bring it to a collision center and get an estimate, they are usually that cost the most. might as well paint a different black. that would be cool

I was just driving my car in the school's parade that we had, and some of the little "decorations" they put on there seemed to scratch some how... Anyway, I'm about to wash and wax it to see how it goes... Oh, and how much is a detailling job supposed to run for? Thanx guys....
I just called a local paint company here in town just yesterday and asked the same thing. To get a solid color base price was $2,000. Any extra things like doorjams, and trunk, under hood, etc... was extra. Your best bet is if you dont know much about detailing a car go to a detailer and have him try to buff out the scratches they may just be clearcoat scratches (usually white scratches) and it would be a lot cheaper.
here's one thing you should to - avoid putting your car in parades
i'm sure you don't need a total repainting, maybe it's just the clear coat (hopefully)

Yeah, I think they were just clearcoat scratches b/c I waxed it yesterday and it sort of went away, but not fully... So I'm sure a clearcoat filling would do the job... I'll have to see how much that is and if its gonna be worth doing it, since we all know that shizz happens sometimes....
Well It would always get rid of my swirls too, which is good. Any idea how much this would be? (If you havent noticed, I'm a $ Detailed kind of guy)... Thanx again for all the help guys... Keep up the good work with the cars!! If only I was rich like ya'll...
