USE MASKING TAPE OVER THE PAINT , MARK THE TAPE FOR THE HOLE POSITION, USE A SHARP DRILL BIT AND APPLY LIGHT PRESSURE WHEN DRILLING . LET THE DRILL BIT DO THE WORK. WHEN YOUR DONE PULL THE TAPE OFF THE PAINTED SURFACE. CLEAN THE SURFACE WITH MINERAL SPIRITS.....YOUR DONE

Mineral Spirits??? That's Paint thinner! I'd be safe and clean it with denatured alcohol (hardware store). I know for sure that won't mess up the paint, I've used it when I was fixing paint chips.

Talk to MEX, he recently put on some side markers, and I think he used a Drumel Tool.
