well, here's comes the warranty battle.
Well the battle has begun. If you guys remember, the bolts that hold the clutch slave on the tranny block popped off. (CAI owners know what i'm talking about).(don't know how to post the last tread about this)
anyway
Dropped off my car at Rock Honda in Fontana Ca. yesterday. paid $68 bucks for them to diagnose the problem on the car.....i knew they were going to come at me with some violation of warranty bull, so i took the AEM intake off and put on the OEM one.
What a joke they are, they told me that my DC header was the cause of it. they stated that to install the header you needed to loosen the clutch slave, just like in the AEM install. after laughing for a little bit, i told the manager that he was so full of it, and that the header had NOTHING to do with what happened to the clutch slave. I guess he then realized that i had a little bit more knowledge than he thought. he continued and changed his story completly saying that it was tampered with, he did not know how, but he says that is the only explanation.
what a crock of shiat, i ended the conversation, and told him i'll speak to his boss,(district manager or something).
anyways, my Q: Can the dealer really say that?? That my warranty is voided because their is no better explanation for the damage??
What do i do??

The dealership has to be able to prove that what happened to your car was a result of any modification that you did. If they can't (and they usually aren't even willing to bother) prove this, then they are required by law to honor the warranty.
Check out this thread. It should help you out.

i hate it when the dealers do that. i had a problem w/ the engine. it was idling realllly low and my a/f ratio was really lean. they blamed it on the exhaust!!!and said that the check engine light is on because of the aftermarket exhaust and intake. they charged me that inspection fee and refused to fix it!oh and they also said that my car was dropped so the catalytic converter was burned out!!!lol thats bull!!i complained to the main place. umm, go to another dealer and ask for the phone number for customer service and ask c/s/ for a customer complaint form. fill it out and send it. youll be able to argue and get the problem fixed for free. its a big hassle!!!but it saves you money.

The dealer cannot state that the mod was the cause of the problem and then void your warranty unless the mod was directly related to the problem at hand....i found this out the hard way with my old car and with my Civic i have the honda dealer do all the major mods to the car and then that way there is no question whatsoever about warranties..its a little more expensive to get installs done but i can take the car at any time tell them that its having a problem and its all under warranty

ha, gotta love when you fuel yourself with knowlege.
After I asked to speak to the District Service Manager, the guy said he was not there at the time, but to call back in an hour.
well, lo and behold....the same guy calls me back in 45 min. and says that he spoke to the Honda Co. and here's what they said....
i need to Authorize the break down of my Tranny, to see if there is an aftermarket clutch in the vehicle, or, if the OEM clutch was modified.
if there is one, then i'm <==8 f'ed. but if there is not, then honda pays for everything under the warranty.
Basically, the service manager thought he could get one over on me by bringing "technical language" into the conversation, but to his surprise, i understood it all. I was going to say something about our earlier conversation in which he stated that my header install did the damage...but i'll wait till I pick up my car to state that comment.
well, we'll see what they find.....HA HA< aftermarket clutch. yeah right.

That was the ghaest thing I've heard from a service department... the clutch was loose due to the header installation.
It amuses me how stupid people can look when it comes to them having so much authority.
