factory CD player doesn't work, advice please...
ok, here is the story.
i ordered a pioneer deh-7400mp mp3/cd player and its suppose to be here on monday. since i never installed a stereo in a car before, i decided to do a "trial run" and do the steps necessary to remove the factory stereo. well, i found it a little hard to do, so when i was done ( took 30mins or so ) i decided to just leave the car the way it was, and when i got the new stereo on monday, i would install it, and put the car back together.
well, while i was in the mood, i decided to try and fix the darn rear shelf rattle by wedging some foam in it. after i did that, i decided to play some music and see if i fixed it. then i remembered "oh yeah, i took the factory unit out, duh" so i went to my room and go it, connected it, and it didn't work. the screen displayed some "codeX" where the X is a number, i dont know whats wrong with it. i dont really care since i have the new one coming, but i still want to know how to fix it. and also, will i have problems when i install the new one? should i disconnect my battery before i plug in the new stereo?

You need to get the Code that's specific for your car. It should be written on a card with the stuff when you got your car. If not, call up the dealership with your VIN and they should be able to help you.
