oil pressure sending unit?

I have an 02 ex 5 speed and are about to hook up an electrical oil pressure gauge.before i start poking around under the hood can anybody tell me where the oil pressure sending unit is on my motor. just a general area will help. thanks for any help.[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG]

that is the unit right above the oil filter,a yellow and red wire,the manual call it oil presure switch but that should be the same if u call it a sendin unit.do u have a gauge now ? if u do..do u wanna convert it to a readable gauge from a socall idiot light?

thanks for the info. i have an autometer silver series guage already and want to swap out the idiot light for it.you have saved me tons of time thanks again. and what the manual calls a switch has to be swapped for what autometer calls a sending unit.

I am waiting on getting my Ultra Lite series gauge from Auto Meter for Oil Pressure..does the sending unit screw right in where the stock oil pressure unit is???? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks all....

accordin to my trusty service manual,its only a plug in connector

But does the sender that comes with the gauge plug into the spot where the original oil pressure sensor is?? In other words, do I have to replace the oil pressure sensor already on the car with the sender that comes with the gauge?
