Honda BS
i went into the dealership to get my oil changed and i asked them to check out the passenger side 6x9. when i have the stereo turned up the bass response from that speaker isnt as tight at the other ones. it sounds like the surround is shot. so anyway once its all done the tech said the speaker is fine, its just that at high levels on certain songs, theirs too much resistance on the speaker outputs and thats why it sounds bad. even though only that one speaker does it they wont replace it. does that sound like a bunch of BS?

Yeah I blew the stock back ones a week after I had my components installed in the front. Would it be better to remove the speakers and leave nothing there or should I just leave them there and jsut not have any power going to them?

I replaced all four of my speakers with some Kenwood coaxials. I did the front install first and it sound pretty good, but when I did the rears (pain in the ****) the sound difference was incredible. The treble was sooo much clearer and LOUDER! I eventually put some flush mount tweeters in the doors, which evened out the sound. I couldn't be happier with the quality now.
You should definately put some good 6" or 6x9" speakers in the rear!

slick,
I ordered my Kenwoods from Crutchfield, so all the instructions for mounting them in the door panels, rear deck and even radio removal was included for free. They also include the wiring adapters for all four speakers so I could just plug them in, wire up to the new speakers and didn't have to cut the factory wiring. If you get a radio there, they include the wiring harness for free. They aren't the cheapest, but they do take care of you.
I can scan the install instructions and post them here if you want them..?
