Recently Published Article...
Recently there was a arcticle published in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel about the "cruising" problem in Milwaukee. So over the weekend the Milwaukee Police had over 100 police dedicated to stopping cruising. The law in Milwaukee is if you pass a street more than 2 times in a 2 hour period you can get a cruising ticket. In teh article they say that unruly teens blast loud music till 4 a.m., urinate in lawns, and throw liquor bottles out of cars. The editor interviewed a 50 year old lady so I felt the article was completely biased and have no view points of any teens in it. So last nightt I wrote the editor an email telling her i would like to express the viewpoints of a teen "cruiser". From experience, I feel this law is discriminating against teens. If the police see a 17 year old kid in a civic pass by the same point more than twice they'll pull them over, but if it was a 50 year old man driving a cadillac teh police WILL NOT pull them over. That just proves my point that this law is very discriminating in that one group of people has more right than another group simply because of age or what kind of car theyre driving. And i also feel that one womans opinion that teens "throw liquor bottles from cars", and "urinate in peoples lawns" is totally biased and does not represent the views of society as a whole. So I wrote the editor of the paper an email and they are publishing my article in response as a follow up to represent the views of teens and show that "cruising" is not about causing trouble at all. They have not interviewed me soon, so if u guys have any opinions you'd like to add just tell me. Thanks. Kyle.

You cant just say you dont care if its not democratic, our country is based on democracy if you dont care about it then obviously you take your freedoms for granted and dont look at what we have compared to other countries.
how can they pull u over for driving in circles. so what if u drive around the place 2 or 3 times? are u hurting anyone or causing any kind of a disturbance? that's the gayest thing i ever heard in my life. this country is getting closer and closer to communism

It's nothing more than a stereotype law....The Law should not discriminate.everyone should be held accountable as an individual, Not as a group. Especially with the consideration that all the people who like to go for a drive are in no way affiliated with each other. It is in no way an organized or deliberate effort to all go for a ride, urinate on lawns or all crank your radio's at once..
Send them that

i know how ya feel...its like the same kind of law that we have in socal in the city of pasadena (old town)...however in our area..the cops not only look for people cruisin but also people with loud music...lowered cars, illegal bulbs on headlights and all kinds of ish
then bust the kids "throw liquor bottles from cars", and "urinate in peoples lawns" and not the kids that enjoy themself driving around, bust the kids that are breaking the law,
OK I know from experience the ticket is 75 dollars and 3 points from your license and most of the people(teens) that get the tickets are in the probationary period and therefore the points double unless its there first ticket luckily I was driving my sisters stock Jetta other wise I would have been harrased like no other and The cop thought he was bad assss

what if you go to the store and they see you driving by with your music on , and then when your done shoping, say 25 mins later, they pull you over? what the $%&^ kinda law in that, lets just pull teens over that we see twice in 2 hours. Oh well, good luck on your interview. I say we bring back sleepers! forget bodykits, if they make laws like this, we will have to blend in and become one of the many cars, but when it comes time to push it and drop the hammer. We will have the power under the hood, and thats all that matters.
to me it seems like communism, they are trying to control us. Communism is a form of government that is run by a group of people with rarely any input from the country's citizens. usually this means their rights are taken away, and they are basically being told what to do by that group of people. if i'm wrong on that point tell me. now, by making this sort of law i see a sign of communism. i mean we can't pass by the same street twice within 2 hours or we get a ticket. that is the biggest load of crap i ever heard. how can they do that? they are trying to control us is what i see. (please don't start a flame war, just voicin my opinion)

well, it was my mistake then. i just assumed that was communism because of how some countries that were labeled as being under communist rule treated their citizens, depriving them of certain rights and such. but u r correct that is not pure communism, pure communism is as you have described it.
but i still say it's prepostrerous (sp? ) of what they are doing nowadays with these kinds of laws.

- iloverice, we have the same problem here in stl. actually this cruising thing here has been around for about 15 years on the same road (lindbergh). back before imports were cruising like today, many were mustangs 5.0s, z28, and other typical american muscle cars.
- around the time of F&F or shortly there after, the stl county issued a law with the same principles only instead of 2 hrs, its 30 minutes here. aint that a b*tch. but the law was not trying to stop cruising or harass teens, the law was made b/c of all those disturbances those teens did. cops here tell me that some of those teens: trespass, loiter in business parking lots after hours, throw their trash in the parking lots, drink alcohol, deal drugs, start fights, etc.............
- this street- lindbergh is very popular one here in missouri/illinois. drag racing magazine rated this street in top 5 of cruising streets in the entire country. we attract people from missouri and even western illinois. i remember reading a statistic that show that cops handed out tickets to 300 teens in one month and yet only 20 of those teens were from south stl.

Communism isn't even a form of government, it's an economic system...everyone owns everything, everything is divided equally, blah blah blah.
What you're thinking of is a totalitarian governement, like a dictatorship (ruled by one person) or ogliarchy (ruled by a few people). Most often communist countries have a totalitarian government (usually an ogliarchy). It is possible for a country to be a Democracy and Communist at the same time...
But we all knew what you meant and now I probably confused everyone.

Damn Ducatti you beat me to it...but you did a better job anyway.
Anyway, the above post made me relize just how influential "The Fast and the Furious" was...think about it, it has to be one of the most influential movies in the past few years, at least in the automotive world.

So how do they determine the difference between crusing, and dropping someone off? or looking for an address? Both those activities would require passing by the same place more than once, and I'm not going to wait 2 hours after I drop someone off to come back. Or what if you're looking for a house number? Being lost is now a crime? That's the dumbest law I've ever heard.
