well i've done a search some people thinks its safe and some others say its not. So by changing the pulley is it safe for the engine or not and is it a great difference from our stock pulley? im looking into the Unorthdox pulley is it really worth 300+?

FAMILY MAN is the only person on this entire site that i know has the UNORTHODOX Crank Pulley installed. he seems to like it, however, i dont recall what he said as far as its performance goes. as far as long term effects on the engine from the crank pulley, that has yet to be determined. hopefully they dont do any harm, but from what some people have said, apparently they do... my suggestion is search elsewhere on the internet, such as other car club sites... clubsi.com or something and ask around there, see if anyone else has posted info about long term effects from underdrive crank pulleys...

i would think that the unorthodox crank would cause some damage over a period of time. but thats just my opinon. i would go with the aem pullies just to be safe.

theres never been a problem with any pulleys exept crank pulleys if there not perfect they will do damage besides its not enough hp to worry about it just use aem they dont have a crank pulley thats my 2 cents and is exactly what i plan to do

I have a question about the aem pulleys. Im running a high power audio system and Im concerned about the amount of power the pulley will pull from the battery. Anyone have any coments about that?

If I remember correctly, AEM says that you will be fine with the pulleys as long as you're not pushing more than 400 watts. After that, then power will start to be drained. Someone feel free to correct me if that's not completely accurate.

I read 400 as well from AEM however on other sites I have read you should not run more than 350 off of them. A couple of guys said they ran about 300 or 350 and had no problems but guys with stereos closer to 400 ran into big problems.

Just get an aftermarket alternator (mralternator.com I hear is decent) then you should nto have to worry about it. Correct me if im wrong of course [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]
Thats what I plan to do cause im running like 300 just for the speakers and that does include the 2 12" subs hooked to my jbl 1200.1

I have unortodox, and for the record I got them for $282 shipped, not $300+ so you can find deals on them. I like the set (ultra SS) it was east to install just time comsuming. You will NOT hurt your car by putting these on. I felt way better throttle responce and a small hp increase. They will spin your alternator less so that means less power for electronics, so if you are running a large strereo system you probably won't want them. But why put a stereo in a car you are trying to get to do performance? and AEM sucks. they are a waste for anything but an intake.

Hey guys...
I also heard that if the pulleys (crank) arent exact then you may have problems over time. But I want to get all 3 pullies and I don't think AEM makes the crank pulley, just the p/s and air conditioning? And Unorthodox sells all three... On Ptuning.com, i wasnt sure if they sold all three or just the crank pulley. And I can't seem to find the Ultra SS (all three pulleys) from Unorthodox anywhere but their own webpage, which is kind of pricey. If anyone knows a site that has all 3 Unorthodox Pulleys, can you please PM me or just link it in this thread? The lowest I found the aem pullies was for 144.00 shipped. I want all Unorthodox though. Thanks for your help (in advance)
