I can feel the heat...
I might get flamed big time for this but oh well ... I have a 01 coupe ex I want to do something about the way the inside looks and sounds "what I don't want" is to be rollin down the street smokin indo sippin on gin and juice with my ghetto blaster leading the way to miracle ear. " 10 years of being behind the drums from punk rock to jazz has done enough already" BUT I do appreciate a good sounding system. So here is what I think I want.. either JVC or pioneer reciever "pref with one of those cool displays" and perhaps a equalizer to fill in the gap under the reciever. or just go with the oem in dash changer..and a speaker upgrade .. give me some ideas or just bad mouth me for my ignorance on the matter either way ...
Peace
That sounds good to me, I'd suggest getting a decent set of components in the front hooked up to an amp with a nice Pioneer HU. The rear can be left alone for fill and you cna get a sub or not at your own discretion.

I would suggest dynamat. Most people think it's made to stop the vibration in your car that your stereo (mainly the subs) create. Dynamat lowers the sound floor inside your car which will make it sound a ton better inside. It's just a real pain to install throughout your car.
As for equipment, I would get a HU with at least 4V preamp outs. Make sure that you power your speakers off an amp and get some decent components in the front and 6.5" in the rear. I think 6x9's are made for american cars. But the quality of the front speakers is what's gonna make the difference to you the most because you won't be sitting in the back of your car. And as for a sub I would get a 10" cause they have tighter base but will still play loud with good sq. I would look into Boston Acoustics or Infinity for door speakers. For subs I would go JL.
This is more of a system I would build for myself but just hope my opinion helps.
Btw, I would go Pioneer over JVC

I would go with a Pioneer HU, I've had JVCs and Panasonics before and they don't even begin to compare to the Pioneer I have now. Then go with components up front and a small amp to power those... if you're a punk person then bass probably isnt that important so I would put subs last on your list....and stick with tens when you get to that item on the list.
Oh, and maybe "take it easy on the quotes" cause it just kinda "seems a little ghetto".
