Honda should do WRC

Well, since they're getting out of CART, the racing division will have some free time. So why not make a Civic Type R Rally car? Turbocharge the K20A2, put a rally suspension and beefed up mechanical systems on it and put it in the mud. I think they could do it and do well. Its the same hatchback type car as most of the other cars, the CTR is already an FIA certified car, it would just be a matter of designing and making a rally ready car.

Yeah, i think Honda(Civic Type R), Toyota(Dunno, maybe celica) and Opel(Astra) should ente the WRC so they can make it more interesting.......... cause from all the teams all the victories go to 2 o 3 teams.........

They used to have an accord in the Touring Car races, but I'm not sure if they do anymore...

I watch speedvision and on every sunday during the day they nothing but rally and WRC. Also, I dont know if it was actually "WRC" or not, but there was a EG6 Civic that was doing rally. It was really cool to see it do it, but I dont know if the FF style chassis can be a strong opponent against Evolutions and Impreeza's. Nothing beats AWD for rally type situations.

actually...theres an AWD civic in japan...or at least somewhere overseas. the page was in a language i couldnt read, so i just saw pictures and something like 4wd. so all honda really has to do is make the initiative and beef up their powerplant and tune the car to make it rally ready. something tells me that theyre not going to do that tho. honda strikes me more as a road course car company...

would be nice tho.

sounds like a good idea, if the new hyundia can do it, why can't a tuned honda do it? I think it would be cool to watch, especially when they rally Finland

Yeah some EG hatches run the SCCA rally, but none in the WRC. I say to use a beefed up Honda AWD scaled down from the the CRV, and heavily modified, all in the new Type R, that would be anice machine to run, turbocharged i think it can do quite well, probably take about 5 years or so to start seeing really good results in the WRC. Also Honda runs the integra in some American races.
