hey guys,

I just ordered a pioneer DEH-P7400MP head unit and the place sent me a pioneer premier DEH-P740MP.

What is the difference? Which is better? Should I send it back and demand the 7400? or should I keep quiet and stick with the 740?

The 740 is better than the 7400. It has 3 pre-outs at 4V instead of 2 @ 2V. Here compare for yourself:

the 740 has a 2 year warranty,, better pre-outs.. and added crossover options.. Premiere is Pioneers upper line of things.. [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]

Ed, you can do that or try Reading this thread I posted on the HU I bought. It's your choice, but I say go for a new HU. I was going to keep my stock CD player but I decided this would sound better.

I was looking hard at that JVC HU also, but i decided to go with Pioneer, I've hear better things about them. That JVC was very tempting though, it was really close for me. I'll let you guys know how it goes [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG] Either way.. it's better than my Sony [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/IMG]

Oh, hells yeah! Sony makes good products, but not in car audio, IMHO. I hope you like the Pio. I was thinking of getting it also but I went JVC because I like the look better and I got it for $260 shipped.

IM KEEPING MINE!

im running stock speakers in an EX 2002 sedan.

This radio is pumping out MOSFET50 power. Could I possibly be in danger of blowing out my stock speakers with this kind of power?

Does anybody know what kinda speakers come stock? the specs?

I believe it's 30 W and 15 RMS. I'm not absolutely possitive, but that's my best guess. If that's the case it'll handle it for a while but eventually, at high volume, you will blow them.

So, I ordered the 7400MP yesterday night and today, i'm waiting for class to start when i hear that i have a voice mail, I check it and it's 6th avenue telling me that they were out of stock on the 7400MP and that they wer substituting it with the Premier 740MP. So, i got the same deal as above, about 237 for the 740mp [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG] Just wanted to share [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]
