Update on HKS Turbo...GOOD NEWS!
Quote
[hr]Hey guys, sorry to leave you hanging for so long on this.
We're making some internal adjustments to try to speed up some things in the future...
Here's the latest on the 2001 Civic EX project:
HKS will offer a turbo exhaust manifold with a T25 flange for the car. R&D will continue for further product evaluation and feasability.
More information, including pricing and timing will be announced at NOPI Nationals, along with some other HKS product news.
If you're not planning on attending the NOPI show, be sure to register for the opt-in mail list for the monthly newsletter, or check in at the forums sometime after the show.
Thanks for your continued interest in HKS.

THE T-25 turbo is the stock trubo of the 95-99 mitsubishi eclipse gs-t and gsx....i had 1 on my gsx but i blew the thing up running max boost 15lbs

its a good turbo.....good for a max of 210...atleast thats what the 95-99 eclipse came with...id getthe hks turbo and wait till some1 comes out with new pistons and seals and everything then upgrade the turbo...bad experince with blowing motors up......and trannys.

God, because HKS did say this is a DSM kit, this is a kit for Civics, that don't want 20+ PSI being pushed out...most of us won't push it past ten, why should we get a bigger turbo and increase turbo lag?[hr]

there are many things one can do to overcome turbo lag.
unless you're running 40Psi or something stupid, it can be overcome.
at around 10 (which is the max I'd ever run on our stock internals), one could easily get around any lag by throwing in a good blow off valve.
There are so many other things to do with a turbo, though.
its not like you just have a turbo and slap it on.
you have to manage the fuel, the boost, the ignition, make sure your exhaust isn't gay...etc.
turbo lag is nothing if managed appropriately. turbo = kicka ss
can't wait till someone comes out with a stable kit for the LX!

Obviously lag can be overcome, a better blow-off valve, ball-bearing turbos, ETC. But, the point is if we most of us are going to be running at about 10 PSI, why would not want a turbo like the T-25?

the whole point is to keep the turbo spooled up so you don't witness lag. the t3/t4's are a lot better for this.
if i wasn't so tired, i'd get a link for ya.
sorry bro
