jiggy rigged cone filter

OK I have taken off my filter box and threw a cone flter in its place with no hoses or anything. very cheap. just trying to see how well response is. was wondering if anyone knew of a filter or something for the tube that squirts a little oil into the old filter box. also if anyone knows how to adjust the fuel ratio to compensate for what i did that would be helpful as well.

Thanks,

Chris

??? don't really understand your question. You changed you stock filter with a Cone type? If so you don't need to adjust you fuel/air ratio. If you want more hp get a fuel/air regulator and thin out your fuel. When cars come out of the dealership they always set it so more fuel is used so that the engines are less likely to detinate. But if you get a fuel regulator and adjust it to run thinner. You can get a better bang from the engine. If you set it too thin your engine is gone.

The breater hose you're talking about does not squirt any oil into the intake. It's actually sucking fresh air into the crankcase. Make sure you put a breather filter on it...you don't want to be sucking dirt into your oil.

As for the A/F ratio from removing the breather hose, you shouldn't worry. I highly doubt it's going to lean out the mix much.

an airflow sensor is almost self explanitory , it senses if there is airflow, there fore u must need. are u just trying to put a cone airfilter directly over the intake manifold, or something . if so just get some of that 2-3 inch diameter hose that comes with intakes these days and clamp the end and the ull have to drill hole into the hosing and put the sensor in and then clamp the filter.

yeah i just stuck the cone filter on top of the intake manifold. DO you think this will have any bad affects on my engine? ALso, the response rate is a little slower than stock until about 50 and then it seeems quicker after that up until 85ish. Seem normal?

Actually, your wrong on that one. The breather doesn't suck air into the crankcase, it pulls dirty air and tiny amounts of oil into the intake to be reburned and lower emissions.
