Removing Paint on DIY trim pieces.....

alright...im kinda sick of the paint on my tirm pieces chiping and looking like S#!t...so im gonna take it off all the way and just get a metal trim kit!!!

Well...anyone know how to remove this? just ordinary paint remover or what? anything that will work good but not harm the trim plastic....

IF you did not use the surface prep( the one that "melts" your pieces so the paint sticks), you can use industrial masking tape to pull the paint off. I used it to remove paint off my door panels.

See the door panel? It had paint all over it. The speaker part is still black as you can see.

Using enamel remover (methyl alcohol) removes most paints, but also seems to melt the plastic a little, I used this to remove the paint I put on the HVAC controls.

you can use a wire brush, not the one you use on a gas grill, but the one you use to clean aquarium pipes(tube cleaner) or a toothbrush. Once the paints starts to peel or chip, a little elbow grease can do wonders. Find something small enough to fit in there. A gentle scrubbing material would be desirable.
