would i tell the difference?

I've been looking at these amps to push my highs 4x6,6.5 components, and 6x9's. would I tell the difference between them except my wallet weight. All rated about the same.
Kicker KX300.4
JL Audio 300-4
Lightning Audio B.400.4
I've also looked at U.S. acoustics USX4085
the highs are alpine unless I change my mind to JL audio
decisions are hard with so much available
thanks for any input. I'm not stuck on these, other amps can be suggested

There shouldn't be any audible difference between the amps. They all get the job done. The guts are what makes each amp different (for example, they're built better). Out of your list, I would get either the Kicker, JL, or US Acoustics.

i would get the kicker, reason being, it will put out more power at 2 ohms than 4, unlike the JL. running 6 speakers off 4 channels means two have to be wired together, and you dont want to have the same power that one set is getting shared aross 2 others.

if you only had 4 speakers, id go JL all the way tho. but that is just me loving JL amps more than kicker amps. no reason to show loayalty. (i personally would run earthquake anyways )

OK what if I went with the JL audio component set XR653-cs set and used the 4in to take the place of the 4x6's (if they would fit in depth) then use JL VR690-CXi 6x9. The JL audio 300/4 would be best wouldn't it. This would keep it 4 ohm correct. My wallets getting lighter as I type. Thanks for the help.

that set only comes with one crossover. as far as I know they are 4 ohm components, meaning you cna treat the WHOLE set as one 4 ohm set. if you ran just those and then a pair of 6x9's, then that JL 4 channel amp would be ideal, running a 4 ohm load across the board.

have you looked at Arc audio, PPI, or directed amps? Or maybe one of the orion 1 channel amps with 3 sets of speakers hooked to them dropping it to 1 ohm.

I would go with rockford. It's up there with JL in quality and performance. Plus, it's cheap these days, especially on Ebay. A 500.4 (500x) is going at $230 compare to the JL at $340. There is no warranty though but it's new and works good.

Component wise I'd lean towards what rabbit suggested......amp wise.. well I'd have to say anything with a +/- 1db frequency response from 20-20khz will do just fine...alot of amps have a +/-3bd frequency response wich can often make for some harsh frequency peaks..

welcome back mohawk. the components are killing me. I can't decide what to get. I started out getting alpine r-series for $155 total. I've been told JL, Polk, Infinity, boston, focal, just about all the good brands. It's hard to decide, all the others are twice the price plus and I haven't heard any but the Alpines and they sound real good to me. But I can't compare without hearing the others. would I really tell that much difference between those $279 and $399 sets compared to the alpines. I went with the Lightning audio 400.4 amp, for $169 total I've heard good things about it and you have recommended lightning audio before so they can't be bad. I'm going to run the 4x6's off the HU so the components will not share the outputs on the amp. Thanks for the help

okie dokie.. the difference are mainly psycho-acoustical... In some cars..some cheap speakers might sound the best because of the cars natural gains and dips...If it sounds good to your ears..and you don't plan on competing in sound quality... get what your ears and your wallet can agree on ...
