Trying to fit 6x9 Kappa 692.5i in Coupe
Hey guys. I am tryign to fit a pair of Inifiniti Kappa 692.5i 6"x9" speakers in the back, but having a hack of a time.
The magnets hang down to low, about 3/4 of an inch to 1" i would say.
I have done searches on here for ideas but only found talk about spacers for front 5 1/2 speakers.
Any idea on how to fit them in?
to cut a large spacer out of MDF may be hard. Because the rear deckgoes over the speakers so it would have to be only about 1/3" wide.
Do i only cut 4 small spacers and drill a hole through them?
Or should i just ebay these and buy new ones? What brand?
Thanks!

i've got the kappa 693i's. i had to take that rubber shroud offa them before they would fit so do that if you havent done that. even now tho whenever i close the trunk, i get a little bit of rub from the trunk rods. the kappa magents are HUGE - they do sound great tho.
Shroud.... got me thinking on what you meant for a moment.
Now i think i get hwat you are saying. Take off that plastic casing. The one that you can see the cone through.
Thats a good idea, i cant believe i didnt think of that.
Did you use spacers at all?
Becuase that magnet is huge and i still am worried it will drop down to far and not fit between the trunk springs.
THANKS alot btw.
Please any suggestions or comments of what othe rpeople have done to fit in 6x9s

i cranked on them and bent my torsion bars. worked great.
what DIDNT work great, were those 6x9's! the cones are flexy as hell, they sounded like garbage. the best system upgrade i have ever done was getting rid of those guys. running no rear speakers was the best thing i ever did.
good luck!

Hehehe,
How did you bend the bars?
Throw em in a vise and bend by hand? er... change that to whole body weight.
Do they still work as well?
Would hate to trash a brand new car.
But i assume they arent to expensive to replace.
