I put strobes in my headlights and i just put a seperate switch on mine next to the 12volt dc plug in real simple i picked them up at pep boys and all you had to do is drill a 1/2" hole in the headlight. Just drill slowly and take your time. I would suggest putting them on constant power so that you can show your friends when you want to. What do you mean by lava tubes, just put them in a seperate switch also.

I have strobes in the headlights, back turn signals and back reverse lights but they're the Whelen ones that are used on police cars. They required a 1'' hole to be drilled in each fixture and the strobe tube then pops in. They run to a power supply mounted in the vehicle which runs to the battery and then a toggle switch mounted in the console.

It's illegal to use these in most states unless you are authorized to use them.
